well...i downloaded the UT3 beta yesterday and it looked like complete crap on my computer. i have an ati x300...so i went and bought a new one today hoping that it would at least make it playable. i thought it would take maybe 30 minutes but now i'm thinking more like 30 hours. i can't get the thing to work. it says "setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system" though i'm pretty sure my computer meets the requirements. anyway, i've looked all over the web and no one seems to know what the problem is. also there's supposed to be some kind of power connector on the cards that require more power. mine doesn't have one, but it doesn't work without more power. i had to connect something to it, but i know it's not in the right place cause the connector doesn't fit right. i've tried downloading all kinds of drivers. i've done almost everything they suggest. bah, i guess i'll be calling customer support tomorrow.

It would probably help you a better answer if you mentioned what kind of card you bought.

Indeed...before anyone here can tackle the question:

Need the make/model of your graphics card, motherboard and any info you can supply about the power supply...for starters.

ahh yes. it is: radeon ati hd 2600 pro PCIe. probably not the greatest but as long as it runs ut3 that's all that matters.

don't really know anything about the motherboard or computers in general. but i think the power supply was about 360 W (i'm sure it is at least 350). the requirement said 300.

Well first Ati's website says you need at least a 400 watt Power supply.
What operating system do you have? Windows(98,XP, Vista), or Linux?
Did you download ATI's latest drivers? version 7.10?
Thats about all the help I can give in a forum...Im better at figuring these things out hands on, but there are some tech savvy ppl on here.

hmmm, then that's crap. the box definitely says 300 watts.
i have windows xp media center edition and yes i did download version 7.10...and a few of the previous ones also just to try something.
but if it really does require 400 watts i think i'm gonna take it back cause that's kinda....misleading. and i'm thinking that's the reason for the problems...

how much do power supplies like 400 watts usually cost? i'd rather not have to spend any more money than necessary. oh well.

I forgot to mention that the 300 watts is probably the MINIMUM requirements. ATI RECOMMENDS 400 watts or greater
