I love pies
t was 12 o'clock and my stomach was churning
my desire for a pie was really burning,
The Square Pie Shop was where I had to be
for a lovely filling encased in golden pastry.

Lamb and rosemary, steak and cheese,
which one should I choose? I'll have both please!
The aromas released as I cut through the lid,
and into my tummy the pie just slid.

With some mash and gravy to wash it down,
There's no doubt about it they're the best pies in town!
But with more on the menu that I really must try,
I just can't wait to eat my next pie!

Ah....the youth of America just can't seem to grasp that American pies with sweets in them have their roots in the Great British tradition of meat pies and gravey! Yummm I miss those days of my youth when I got to experiance your fine culanary treats. Thank you for the walk down memory lane Kaeolian and Monkeyspunk!!

After spending 4 months in England, I have determined that there is no such thing as good English grub.

Beer on the other hand...

For some reason, as I was reading that, I had Mr. T narrating it in my head... Heh, Mr. T telling a poem about pies...

How dare you lol ! I dont think you have a right to comment on English food after what the USA has done with its fast food market !

(BTW english food sucks most of the time, but we do have some winners. Full english breakfast, sunday roast, steak and guiness pie, and dont forget CURRY. Yes the english invented curry not the indians... dont believe me ? Go on look it up ill wait....... ok now you see during our occupation of india when it was part of the British empire the English couldnt get food to keep well in the heat and used local spices to help and curry was born ! )

Zeus, come over to England again and i'll show you how good English grub is. Out for a few of the fine beers you mentioned, a zig zag walk to the local ruby(curry house) and then in the morning when your head is banging and your ass burning, off to the greasy spoon for a full English including black pudding! Mate, you'll never look back! :blackeye: < the black eye is because alot of English men still practise the age old art of "Pistols at Dawn" when they've had a few shandies, if you get my drift!
