Zeus, whatever you do, don't go to England with Monkey! All I know is that he wants to take you out for beers and then do something wiht your "pistol" afterwards that will leave you with a burning A-hole...that doesn't sound like a fun vacation to me! (Might be something Damnidge would enjoy, however!)

Marston's is a good pint you're right mate, but the Crown has to go to the Black Sheep Brewery. They're best bitter is like velvet! A very light beer you can drink till the cows come home. I went on a brewery visit there with some mates(it's up in North Yorkshire - proper brewing county) and getting absolutely smashed on their Riggwelter. On their web site they describe it as:

Yeah it is exactly as they described and VERY tasty,but they fail to tell you that 4 pints of the stuff turns you into a gibbering wreck! lol
We have a pub that serves black sheep and damn fine beers they are too !
What part of the country are you from then as Black sheep and marstons to an extent are more of a northern beer arent they ? Not like that shandy you get down south.
Chesterfield originally mate but now live in Southport. I wouldn't go down south for the reasons you stated....shandy drinking softies who don't eat mushy peas! What's all that about?
You have no idea fella, I went down the other week on a training course and went to get some fish n chips for lunch and not only did they not have mushy pea's they didnt have curry sauce and they didnt have gravy I mean WTF !!!!
I asked for sauce and they tried to sell me some ketchup sachets... robbing FOOKS.
So yeah after that I gave up and headed back north for some real food. You live almost directly the opposite side of the country to me. I live Near Grimsby !
Aah Grimsby....been there a few times mate with me old man. good for fish! I've heard a few stories about southern chippies not being proper chippies. i mean, who the hell doesn't serve gravy in a chippie?!!! It's scandalous. They should be shut down. In that situation mate i'd have found the nearest KFC and got some gravy from there. They do actually produce spanking gravy, not the proper Northern type but a close second!
Over this side of t'country, most of the gravy has MUSHROOMS in it! They haven't grasped the concept here. And no Black sheep, but we do have a real ale week which isn't too bad
