The last two days my game will not let me play online due to "Punkbuster can not initialize"
Anyone know what this means? I had it working and all of a sudden it won't. I've loaded Punkbuster 3 times now and it's still giving me the same error message.

That's weird.
Punkbuster is touchy. It will not let me run my Ventrilo overlay app without giving me an error and kicking me from servers. So, my first question is do you have any other events / apps running that could be causing a conflict?
The other question is have you backed up your profile, completely uninstalled COD4/punkbuster, and reinstalled? Also, is there a newer version of punkbuster you can install on your own?

Learned last night that punkbuster will not let you run with your fpscap set to 0. It had to be a number like between 20 and 150.
im having the same problem..
That's not true. Mines set to zero and I've played on multiple servers that require punkbuster and I've never had a problem. Maybe it's because mine doesn't go above 150? To those having problems with punkbuster:
1) make sure you installed punkbuster when you installed the game. If you didn't completely reinstall.
2) have the latest version of punkbuster. goto: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php and download the pbsetup program and it will update punkbuster.
If you still have problems you should contact the punkbuster technical support.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I was playing on a server that had CAL rules enforced. Punkbuster in that case kicks you. I don't know if TWL will do the same or not.
