Hosting maps for download?

Wouldn't it be a nice idea to have the maps for download 'round here? I'd reather spent two hours downloading maps than waiting for them to download in the game, its too sad when you have to wait 10 minutes for a map to download just to find out the match is over!

Awhile ago I had created a custom map installer and I could make it available, but it is somewhat outdated, so you would get alot of the maps, but about 1/3 will still need to be downloaded from the server. I can update the custom map installer in the future with the maps it is missing, or to provide a second custom map installer for the additional maps.

If you are interested, I will re-upload it and provide the link so you can get it. Its large, about 163 MB in size...or wait until i break it down in 2 part, and update it...

(May find time to update a bit, so size may vary)

I used to have a download section, but a certain clan who shall remain nameless, basically would dl every map I had and put it on their (exact copy of SV) server.

But it appears that more and more people are asking for this, so I will re-activate it.

It will be very nice! Y'know? I thought that could be the reason there are no maps for download, but I was thinking...maybe the download section could be password protected to avoid such problems?

Excellent, thanks for the link toxic. I completly understand your predicament with it though, I pray it will not become a problem again for you. Password protected is a nice idea, but at the same time creates more work for you, or someone else who is given the duty, in deciding who gets the password. Also, what would stop that password from being spread to the culprit in the first place. Oh well, I hope this works out.

I added the download link back (see the home page). The list is out of date however. Give me a few days and it will be back to normal.
