Hello everyone.
Reasonably new player on the server, so I thought I should introduce myself.
In game name is Astral, I think most of you have seen me dying on server 1 by now. Not much to say really, I can put up with most stupidity and idiocy but have a real problem with people who have a lack of manners.
See you guys on the game :)

Well met, Astral!
Very glad to have you on the boards!
And most happy that you've found our slice of Monster Mashing fun! Do you play any other gametype within UT? :)

Thank you!! :cheers:Astral wrote:Not really, just monster mash. The rest gets boring quickly. At least with Monster Mash there is the element of teamwork and tactics. Also a pretty entertaining set of players normally.
Congrats on the server DW.
Hmm...Onslaught....teamwork and tactics...yup that fits the bill! ;D
Come and try Spam Vikings sometime...we rip it up in there too!
Totally agree with you on the players...endlessly changing...always entertaining! And do join us on the Ventrilo server if you can! A whole other level of entertainment in there! ;)

Vent seems to be a no, there doesnt seem to be a Linux client for it yet, and I dont have a windows machine. Although they do seem to be thinking about making one which is a good thing.
Reminds me, if there is any urgent need for server/site/programming things then I would be happy to assist. I do allot of Linux admin, and PHP/Java programming.

Hey Astral!
I quite happy that you have manners. I know too many people that get angry after dieing their second time. Sounds like you can tolerate a total beat down :blackeye:
Good Job man, your commitment will lead you to a high lvl some day.

The difference between successful people from others is
not in the lack of strength,
not in the lack of knowledge,
but rather in the lack of will.

Thanks D2Boss. I tend to consider manners essential, especially on the internet - you cant add any inflections to what you say, so politeness can be the difference between seeming rude and a reasonable comment.
Beat down? Sounds like most of the later waves...still, its a useful learning experience. Die, watch more experienced players to see what they do, adapt how you play, rinse, repeat. So far I must admit my technique does seem to be just pressing the jump button constantly, the direction keys randomly and constantly firing a Medic Mine Layer. Works up until around about wave 9, but I'm open to advice :compress:
