I'm not a "skins" person, so someone else (Cheap, Karma, many others) can correct this or elaborate. As far as I know you just need to put the files in the appropriate folders within the UT2004 main directory.
.usx files go in the static mesh folder
.utx files go in the textures folder
.u files go in the system folder
.ukx files go in the animations folder
etc.

There may be something else you need to do, but what it might be I don't know.

these are the folders inside of the ut2004 folder that you
place the components of the skins into

ka = karmadata folder
upl = system folder
u = system folder
ukx = animations folder
usx = staticmesh folder
utx = textures folder
uax = sounds folder

zip files are the compressed folder that holds all of the above files.
use your unzipper of choice. Will be some form of .zip

if I remember any others I will update this list

Hey ya! :D

The other two files are: .ka - goes in your Karma Data folder and the .upl - goes into your System folder.

Looking forward to seeing what skins you choose! Don't forget to post your list of skins here: http://www.clandw.com/modules.php?name= ... pic&t=1553 along with links, if you can, so we can see what your alter egos look like! :drunken: :cheers:

That's a 7Zip file....which is a file compression bit o'software...it's free and it's the one I use to zip and unzip compressed goodies on my machine. If you care to check it out, here's the link: http://www.7-zip.org/

That being said, there are a lot of compression utilities out there. If you're running Windows XP it has one built in (works...but I'm not crazy about it). PKUnzip, BitZip, WinZip, etc. etc. Some are really bloated bits of software...others, like 7Zip are chock full of functionality in neat little packages. Can you tell I'm biased? LOL! ;) I'm not entirely sure if any or all of these are compatible with one another, I know that 7Zip plays well with others of it's breed...even .rar files.
