Ok, so let's set the first matches for Sunday, August 23rd. Thats 2 weeks to get at least 4 formed, prtepped and ready.

We still need a fourth captain and his team at this point

Sunday night works for me...team?

As long as I can get out by 10pm central, I'm in.

It will be a lot better and more organized if he captains were in charge and responsible for making thier team show up for the matches. This way everyone can plan ahead.

Finally, can we post up the players that are getting recruited on here so the other teams dont ask the same players.

On my team:
1. Emotion
2. Homer
3. X-Razer
Just saying it gave the omni tourney alot of trouble - not that they know how to admin a server worth a damn.

The only way for this to be fair is to pick teams from a pool of people that show up. If you just go talk to your friends there's nothing stopping a team of ringers like pure from showing up and stomping everyones ass. Wouldn't matter who you had on your team from the DW community - You would lose. It wouldn't be fun.

In the omni tourney we picked from the pool of applicants in a complicated ass matrix of who gets next pick - teams ended up being pretty even. Except my first pick rzl_dzl dropped and rules said I couldn't get another player unless 2-3 dropped. Wouldn't matter anyways since there were only 3 players in choco's/rzl's class. My team did pretty damn well, we had superior strats and most games were close with all the other teams, but we always got worn down due to the skill differential, and there was nothing we could do to stop it.

Point is - teammates don't show up and having your best player not show ruins it for your team, so picking from who actually shows sounds like the best plan to me - at least to start with. Later after things settle in any everyone knows whats up you could start something closer to a league.

Well, Im not really worried about a group of ringers showing up...i mean, they have to sign up on here right? And this is where we'll be making the brackets and scheduling matches, so we'll know beforehand who they are.

Secondly, we're pretty much just advertizing this to friends and on the SVA server. I think the players will mostly comprise of people from there.

If we tell everyone to show up and pick from there, what happens to players who arent picked or what happens if a team is incomplete? If we pick everyon before hand, and schedule the matches, they can plan ahead. We can also allow 1 sub if something comes up with a player last minute.

Also the captain can coordinate his team and work on strats, will make things a bit more organized.

This is all my opinion though. We can do it the other way also, it depends on everyone.

I do understand what Jdub is saying about the chance of teams being stacked, but i dont think it will be too much of an issue if we know the teams first. I like having the teams prearranged first cause then we can make up strats and such, that makes it more like a tourny and not just an organized pub match with whoever on teams.

Keep in mind right now teams are being picked without order - as a hypothetical example theres nothing stoping dw>fondle from recruiting Alpha, Choco, toxic and any other really good players... what would that leave the rest of the teams?

Eh, lets just get this thing going already. Someone make a sticky with a list of people interested and a time/place for this and lets start!

I'll play...

For 6v6, I'd reccomend ~9 players per team b/c people won't show up for a variety of reasons...
