I don't know as far as the tanks on PMC-beta, but I have seen the hyper-manta on other maps besides that one, so the PMC-beta mapper may not be the owner of those vehicles.

Just took a look around for PMC-Beta, since I've never seen that map. Judging from this guy's work on this map and on other stuff (AS-Outback, stuff in both CBPs) it seems like if the HyperManta is appearing elsewhere then someone else is using it from PMCBeta.

I think if we can get the permission of the maker of PMC-Beta, I'd like to get those vehicles and use them as well. Then we could have a map with all fast vehicles (mantas, scorps, light tanks)

I'd be happy to discuss any ideas you might have. Send me a mail. You can see my email address on the home page under DW clan roster.

Thanks Gorzakk! You have a job here for life!

PS, our resident mapping genious is Wraith. I'm sure if you two got together, you could make a really cool map between his mapping skills, and your kick ass vehicles. I suggest you hit him up as he's working on a new map as we speak.
Cheers! If you check the mod pack I linked there is a new manta in that. Its called the Wyvern and has more speed and agility than the average manta. It can also jump a greater height and has a weaker gun that has a higher rate of fire. Its a work in progress so check it out and see if you think it needs any adaptations. The Light Tank from PMC is a fast agile tank with a high rate of fire but the firepower of a gnat. It also has no minigun turret and so is a sitting duck for raptors and other tanks. Its really good for Hellbenders and scorps though.

In that version you've got the following new rides.

Scorpius:- Its a very fast and nimble scorpion with an energy web that explodes a little faster than normal after making contact (normal is 3 seconds, this one is 1.75).

Stinger:- Even faster and more nimble than the scorpius with an energy web that fires more blobs. The blobs will detonate after 3 seconds as per normal scorpion but if you can get a tank unawares from behind you can kill it. with one full string and a few short ones.

Scorpius Diablo:- A Scorpius that shoots rockets. Also has 4 wheel steering making it difficult to drive.

HellHound:- Faster hellbender with slighly faster skymines and a simple energy weapon for the driver.

I was working on a map at Titan called TankMeUp. Ever heard of it? It was one of the most popular and I think adding a few more varieties of tank would make it even moreso. I would be happy to make you a TankMeUp-SVA if you like.

That sounds great. We are running tankmeup B9, and the players love it. Some want air support, but I think that would take away from what this map is all about.

I saw over at Titan's you also have a tricked out version of Apocalype. Do you have a link for that? We're running Apocalypse Redux (with mods from Wraith) It's a beutiful map, but the gameplay is terrible.

thanks again!

If you want to work together on a map, that would be great. What I really want to do is make the content more than anything else, i.e. the static meshes. Just started learning how to do that, and I enjoy that part, although it can take a long time to do it well depending on what your trying to make.

The map I'm working on now will be awhile before its comes near to being finished. I'm thinking June now, as I have less time to work on it. Its a large outdoor map. Perhaps too large, but time will tell. My e-mail is listed on the homepage of this site as well, feel free to write if interested.

see gorzakk? i had this same suspicion, and i am glad i linked you here :rr:

gorzakk has made me a custom vehicle that i will use in my upcoming ons-silva, which is nearing beta stages. i'll be sure to give a heads up when a beta is ready.

until then i have to suggest trying out a few more of his creations. you haven't shown then severance-ott yet have you? or anything with the minotaur for that matter...i think the players here will probably go nuts after trying that particular vehicle. severance ott uses a slew of half-health maelstrom nodes, and with custom vehicles its even more of a departure from normal ons. it is very truly over the top, as its name implies. games probably won't last very long on it (mael NV would probably last an average of bout 4 minutes), but then again, none really ever do here 8) except for one cave map that i can't remember the name of that goes OT every time.

hunter, thanks for the special delivery. A diamond in the rough, for sure. And be sure to let me know about your new release.

Gorzakk, you holding out on me? You have more stuff? C'mon man, let it all hang out!

I know that the way an admin feels about the game, comes through loud and clear in the feeling of the server. And ultimately, the passions of the Admin is reflected in the players who come to play there. Most of those players will share the same views, because if they are playing there to begin with, they must like something the admin is doing. And if the player does not get a good feeling, they'll move on.

I run the Death Warrant clan, and obviously for matches and scrims, it's all base maps and base vehicles. And I can enjoy the strategy of those games, and figuring out the tiniest little detail that can give you an edge. But on the other hand, there's nothing like picking up a flak cannon on a custom spammy map, and charging into a crowd of 5 people, and flakking away.

We have a big reputation for running "crap maps" and not taking the game very seriously. I'll admit that we've run some bad maps in the past, but I'd like to think I've grown a little and made some improvements, and weeded out most of the terrible maps, and added some cutom links to improve others. But I know a large number of people would consider a lot of these maps horrible still. My feeling is this:

I'd rather play 15 different crap maps in a row, then beta test the shit out of a map for 6 months, and THEN put it in rotation, and have it so starched and perfect that it has an embalmed feel to it.

Keep it coming Gorzakk. My players will eat it up. No matter how "crappy" it is.

Well I am a little wary after taking a lot of crap at Titan. My stuff never fell down because of gameplay or bugs, but I could never quite work out what all the fuss was about. About 10 threads locked and about 15 flamewars based almost entirely upon the vehicle mods in those maps you are running.

I'll link Maelseverance-OTT as soon as I get the next version ready. I am currently fiddling with the minotaur to produce a new tank called the Arbalist and when thats done you will get it. Probably be a few days. The Arbalist is being prepared for TankMeUp so you should get that at the same time. In the meantime try this version of Dawn:-

No customs, but some extra nodes and fixes to make it more playable for 32 people.

Hey Gorzakk, don't be afraid to try stuff here. Not everyone will like everything, but I can guarantee you we have no problems with trying something new, and giving you feedback on it.

The beauty of the Unreal series is that people can MODIFY the game. I'd take variety, even bad variety over boring uniformity any day. This includes (but is not limited to) new vehicles. And as I stated, I know my players well, and they will too.
