As long as we're kind of going nuts with the vehicles, I think it's probably a good idea not to run maps with all/most vehicles replaced just yet -- The GorzakkPak I downloaded with all the .us and .utxs is 21MB. None of the individual files are big, but it does add up.
Also, Gorzakk can you go into what the non-ScorpionCanyon vehicles do? I'm too lazy to decompile them :P
Well, I'm not proposing we go nuts. I'm just saying we're open to anything that makes sense, plays well, and isn't a bear to download.
I'm not going to put 20 megs of content up there and force everyone to download it. But if putting a fast manta on a map, or a light tank on a map makes sense, plays well, and gives people more enjoyment, I'll do it.
When I first put tankmeup on the server, people were like my 18 month olds...they just kept saying Again!, and wanting me to force the map to play over and over again.
Got a chance to play Scorpion Canyon . Think that was the name . Full up server. The map ran smooth as butter. Lots of positive feedback. It has a good node setup . It went back and forth several times. No negative while I was there.
I wouldn't do it on all the maps but one here and there is great . Those scorpians rock spent the first 10 min of game just sight seeing and doing hill climbs. Benders not half bad either. :blackeye: luv the shiny rims.

Agreed. Keeping it to a few increases the value of the maps that do have updated vehicles. It also stops people moaning about too many customs. But if a server runs 40 maps I think about 6 of those would be neat to be a bit different. If you've just had a 3 rounder of grinding and hard Over Time on something like Urban you wanna have a blast and some fun. Thats the kind of stuff I make.
WailofSuicide - I'll tell you all about the vehicles as soon as the next update of them is due. Currently tweaking some of them and should be done this week sometime. Working on some new toys for TankMeUp. Also integrating the HellHound and KingHellHound together to help bring the filesize down and fixing the Scorpius Diablo. Good thing about seperating vehicles from maps - you can adjust the vehicles without even opening up the map.

Ahh, Gorzakk I was under the impression the vehicles were in a final state. Oh well, no big deal. Have you considered increasing the speed of the energybolas so the vehicles don't outrun them? Another possibility is to follow Epic's lead and make the Scorpion a "closed-top" vehicle... Seems like a good idea to me since even with the Scorpius variety speed you're still extremely vulnerable when you're stuck hugging the ground.
As for TankMeUp -- Are you doing anything with Badger Mini Tank? If so let me know. I've been mulling the idea of trying to do a skin for it... Anything to improve its appearance.

Actually I've got a tankmeup version with the badgers given a very rudamentary skin. Its just a placeholder really, until a proper skinner has a go. I dont actually do the skins for my rides, BigJim and Klasnic are the artists in that regard. Klas did these raptors for instance...
Fans of air carnage should love them. Have a go and let me know what you think. I've got a nice version of Severance and TankMeUp on the burner if you guys are interested.
