Anyone having connection issues?

I've gotten a few PMs in the last couple of days regarding people having connection issues to the Spam Vikings server. What was curious is that they could connect to 3 Point Land.

If you've had issues, please post here and let me know what ISP, when you started having problems, and what your tracert looks like.

I don't have any answers for you right now, but let's see how widespread the problem is and if I can help you.

I am unclear as to what was happening this morning. It seemed the main server was down or not reporting to the master.

Three point land was refusing to send a map I believe it was arroura.

Try re-installing UT. That helped one person out.

The reason you could not get a map is because the re-direct is on the spam vikings server itself. Therefore, you could connect to 3point, but couldn't get the map from SV.

I'm getting pretty upset now.

Only thing I have notcied is that it doesn't show the map on the web site here and that started maybe 2 days ago. I was able to log onto the server anyway.

The only thing I've done differently in the last few days is start the Chaos beta server. I've moved that to a different port (it was on a different IP address, so it should not have mattered). Let's see if that makes a difference. If not, I'll down it completely and see if that gets any better.

I ran a trace. Here are hops 3 - 10 (dies after hitting hop 9). 66.7.164.90 belongs to Yipes Communication. I called Yipes and I have a tech support guy looking into the problem. Hopefully he will be able to resolve the issue. He said he would call me back after he has had a chance to do some research.

I got a call from Yipes. I was told 66.7.164.90 belongs to Safe Mail. If someone can find a number for them I will call them.

Something that might help is to make sure if you have a firewall or router that the ports the UT2004 uses are not blocked.

Back having the problem again after a clean install helped for a while.

My tracert times out at Yipes Communication, same IP as above. My guess is that's where the problem lies. I see SV as down in the UT console. Dammit.

Well I found a number to the company that manages Safe Mails servers. They are looking into the problem. Maybe they will resolve the problem pretty quick.
