okay, I recognize I make long posts...

I'll make this one quick and painless:

Alrighty the biggie map is up. The four rooms are connected nicely.
Chavez, we need you to add your room & connect it to the neutral zone. I've place a giant notepad for other things that needs to be done still ;)

I think everyone should take a peek at this one so I don't have anyone yelling at me when the final version is on the server. Let me know what you guys think. Did I make your hallways too long?? Did I connect your rooms poorly?? Did I screw up or changed your rooms too much? Is there any glitches I overlooked? Do you want a better skybox? etc...

well i did find a few things when i ran threw it quickly i only looked at it for a few min, but you have your level info set to lastman standing instead of DM, idk if you did this on purpose or not, but makes it a pain in the ass when trying to test it LOL :tongue: every time i launch my game it rolls to the next map because it sees me as the "last one" and being the winner lol

also in one of your "water tunnles" there is a huge ice static mesh sticking through...now its not major but idk if u intended it there or not Image also i would have to suggest either "closing off" both reloads and mine "rooms" on the top to eliminate the back drop problem, because no only in both of those rooms does it look like you are looking out on a tropical area, but it also allow's the sunlight lighting effects in which makes shards room and my room overly bright to the point where it was semi hurting my eyes lol Image Image also a bit of the sound effects may be on the loud end, but thats all a matter of personal preference.

Opps sorry about that. Since it takes awhile to build the map I often forget to set the gametype. I always forfeit the LMS & jump straight to instant action.

hehe, I was thinking about moving it, but I had to find some way to show that the water is freezing...
Then I just changed the fog color & forgot about that mesh altogether.
I admit, I was very lazy on the water part. I should of placed trimming improved lighting, floating bits, bubble emitters, & even a better texture.

Luckly, Reload's room is basically unlit.
Your room seems to bit brighter than the original though. I don't think isolating your room will fix that since they are already separated zones with a lengthy buffer zone.
Shard isn't affected at all. Since he didn't place a fakebackdrop, sunlight actors fail to light up his room. I think Shards signs are a bit dark. Should we light them up alittle?

ohhh. I know why everything is blasting. Ever since I came to vent, I lowered my UT volume to 10%. So I hear barely anything while you may hear blasting :X

I've noticed your last screenshot. That skybox looks horrible with the crease there. Maxing your texture quality makes that crease invisible. I didn't think lower texture quality will be that bad. Do you want me fix ya a new skybox with a skyring instead??

Sorry for the epically late reply, but I finally reached the end of your post! (I'm pretty sure I completed Lord of the Rings faster :P )

Firstly, thanks for the great work on my room and the hallways - I was expecting rectangles, not what you've produced :cheers:

Well, we want a name that sounds interesting but something normal players will actually vote for...therefore I'd suggest something like MappersQuilt.

Shard is a giant stadium. It's fitting to place a boss there ^.^
As superchav discovered with 'Teh Base of Heroes', you can't tell the miniboss where to spawn - it spawns just like any other creature. I think it would be worth putting in though.

Personally I thought it was Reload's and Draco's which were too bright. If you want to brighten my signs, their light sources are Special Lit, so whatever you set it to it won't affect the rest of the room...or at least I hope it won't :)


Couple of other errors: Image Water tunnel near your room
Image Entrance to my room

Few other minor things:
  • I noticed the lighting on my movers has gone back to effectively unlit. When I figure out how to fix it I'll tell you.
  • The tunnel between the neutral room and Reload's room is a bit long, and I was running out of oxygen near the end. I imagine players would hide in the 'grate room' too.
  • Could you change the ZoneInfo Location in my room to something like "40 Shards' Demolition Derby"? (no underscore btw)

It matters where he spawns. You place in this MechTitan spawn where the miniboss will spawn. In one map, I placed the MechTitan 100 ft in the air, and he falls a hundred feet in game XD
I think what happens is that the MechTitan can teleport just like the luci or any other monster not doing anything.

That's what I though as well. Apparently, whenever I displace the mover it shows up fine at first, but after compiling the map once or twice the mover moves back to the starting position.

That was the problem. I think my sunlight actors are making Draco's place a bit too bright. I think what I'll do is delete my sunlight actors & place individual bulbs for my outdoors.

Are you talking about the windows or the wave 16 movers. I'll take a peak at both movers though next time I edit this thing :)

I could place scuba gear or I can force them to keep swimming :P
Either way, downing should cause any problems as long as there's a medic swimming with them.

Which grate room?
The one at your entrance (blocking volumes there, can't hide under grated floors)
The one before Draco's entrance (same thing, blocking volumes)
The water fall area (they can hide, but it'll be utterly boring to sit for 45 mins)
That one room connecting my entrance hallways (This might be a decent fighting spot. I'll "cage" off the upper walkways if want me to).

I'm glad that this project isn't forgotten. I know we've started this thing at End of August & it should of been done back in October.
Things are moving slow, and I'm hoping things will speed up some time soon.

Also, I forgot to mention a couple of things in my last post: firstly, I still have no idea as to how to get into your room's camera secret room through the rock (just like in GiantWorlds). Secondly I forgot to thank you for fixing the commentator box in my room :thumbright:

He replied to my pm earlier. He said that his application was processed much earlier than he expect & he's already began training (won't specify what unless he granted me permission). Basically he won't have access to a computer more than 2-3 mins for this week. And he's going to disappear for the next THREE years!!! That's too much for me :(
We'll welcome him whenever he returns :)

I think it's best to move on then. Maybe Chavez can attach his room to the second (if there is a second) map project. Whenever I get some time available (my research paper is killing me DX ), I'll resume working on the Map Project. I'll patch up all the glitches in game (including deleting my sunlight actors)

I will get the super secret done, but the problem is that I have no idea what to do. I can be cheap & just place a million adren with super weapons, but let's be creative. If you have any ideas please pm me. Draco, plz pm to let me know where you want your secret button to go.
