Just wanted to start a thread on how badly the medic class on DW invasion servers has been dreadfully weaked/nuked.
max healling I'm able do as a medic is with grenade launcher, all 8 grenade heal 100 hp, most weapons such as mp5 does 5 hp per shot, and 22 - 25 per 2nd shot.
which is dreadfully weaker than the previous update.
what do you think?
do you think that evolving the class is a good idea, to be more of a palidin?
do you think this eliminates the medic class to be a competitive class in comparison to weapon masters vamperism and adren masters invicibility globe?
lastly this practically eliminates the effectiveness of medic class to be even supportive to other players, which is the main purpose of this class to begin with.
Medic nuking???
Last I heard, medics weren't supposed to be competitive with any class, at least like they used to be. I built my first medic ages ago and was able to keep up with everyone else. In subsequent patches/updates (as per my understanding) the class was supposed to become basically just a camper who sits around and heals people, and that is what basically happened. The other classes recieved boosts with new artifacts and abilities, and the medic was weakened to the point where I gave up on it and tried other classes.
I don't see a huge need for the class anymore TBH. The weapon master as I've played it, really should never need a healing, as Vampirism is such an amazingly powerful skill when it comes to healing yourself. If just a few mines give you several hundred hitpoints, why wait around for a medic to come find you? Duck for cover and throw something explosive out the door.
People think I'm crazy, but as an Adren master, I use the booster all the time, especially if I have max DR. Boosting will use MUCH less adren and keep you alive if you just stay back a bit and use a shock or mp5, (something with some range on it) as opposed to globing and shaking hands point blank with the monsters. Otherwise, as a medic, the only person I really ever needed to heal was myself. Everyone else seemed fine without my healing.

ROFL!!! I knew this thread was gonna rush its way here, but I didn't expect it to arrive sooooo early!
Here's the situation:
Medics were this "weak" before. It was a mistake that they had 3X healing abilities than before, and it should of been fixed immediately before players become accustomed to it (or as replacement as buying med artifacts or even dr, itself).
Lets just act like the mistake was your late Christmas gift & it's time to go back to normal life ;)
BTW, I'm wagering that this debate will last 3-4 pages :P

If the most powerful healing ability is the Medic Weapon you get at level 25, then why bother buying or using anything else? That's pretty much what it comes down to. In other words, learn to use the Healing Blast and Sphere, they are there to complement your healing weapon. Other than that... Just be patient. Just because your level 25 ability is not going to make you instantly heal yourself to full health with two hits doesn't mean you won't get anything in the future to improve on that.

As the Programmers said, Wail & D2 you joined and played during a time when it was a bonus feature. Now things are back to normal. so really get a grip and chill. Medics are and do full fill their roles just fine. Not to mention if you keep using a grenade launcher as your healing weapon you may not be playing hear to much longer. Just to let you know most DW and regulars do not like grenades stuck to them for healing find a different weapon. Your analysis of it as the best healing is flawed 22-25 points per bullet with the mp 5 plus it fires faster makes for a much more effecient weapon to use than the Nade lancher in any event. So yeah stay away from the nades and if it really stresses you out go to another class.

Not all medics just sit and heal ppls! With over 150 Db I spend a lot of time pumping out bullets from the MP5 onto the bigger monsters. I think you'll find medics fit into their place in the monster food chain :P
It is an easy class to play, with the ability to heal yourself and others, using MP5 rockets mostly. On luci, you can straight away have an inf link (though that means you have to be careful not to get slithed cuz u can't re-heal), and it is a useful class to me. I have adrenal drip lvl 1 and it serves me well enough. I have an inf mp5 within 20 secs of spawning.
CONCLUSION: Don't diss medics just diss BAD ones xD

yes it is a weak class hence the point of the conversation why not keep it strong?
why change it back?
further more its a medic/monster summoner, I just assumed that maybe since every other job has something to lvl up such as loaded weapons, vamperism, loaded relics, etc. then the medic would lvl it's monsters in the long run. It's honestly is not a bad setup, also if anything since the medic has added DR it makes an ok fighter when fighting along side it's pet, you can heal yourself effeicently along with your pet.

honestly I would say that the healing abillity is helpful but not all powerful. Weapons masters get every weapon with loaded weapons, the ability to vamp health, adren masters get the ability to craft any weapon of their choice at a random roll, be invicible/triple damage, medics get the abillity to heal themselves alot and summon monsters. is there a problem with that?
and honestly as much fire as a inf weapon puts out medics could heal anyone on the map in a matter of seconds for support... now its like watching water boil.... it just takes forever.

your right grenade laucher sucks as a healing weapon, just making sure its understood how weak the healing ability is. secondly "mp5 does 5 hp per shot, and 22 - 25 per SECONDARY shot". thirdly, this is a discussion and I'm just talking about how this isn't a bad idea. Medic class is still a good camper at the moment, but it was alot more fun when I could join in the dance in the field. lastly, I know it was glitched however that still doesn't mean that it was a GOOD accident.
