Medic nuking???

Talk about anything gaming related which is not covered by our game specific forums (i.e. new games coming out, gaming hardware, server suggestions, etc.)

It is an easy class to play, with the ability to heal yourself and others, using MP5 rockets mostly. On luci, you can straight away have an inf link (though that means you have to be careful not to get slithed cuz u can't re-heal), and it is a useful class to me. I have adrenal drip lvl 1 and it serves me well enough. I have an inf mp5 within 20 secs of spawning.

CONCLUSION: Don't diss medics just diss BAD ones xD
Was this directed at me? Don't get me wrong, I understand the class can kill, but that is NOT it's purpose, or at least that is what I've been told.

Lol, I pioneered the "Warrior Medic". People thought I was crazy, I had no monsters, no experienced healing, max health, damage reduction, advanced damage reduction, and all the combat skills a medic could buy, by level 175. I hit a brick wall around 250 as I ran out of things to buy. But before I settled on a final build, I probably reset it about 6-7 times trying different configurations. I studied the class and finally I got it to the point where I was out there EVERY wave.

I know what the class is/was capable of. I even wrote a medic guide which probably doesn't even apply anymore as it's rather outdated, that you can find somewhere in the MM forums. Anyways, the server started changing and I found that a lot of the tactics and methods I used no longer applied and I stopped playing it. I had my character rebuilt and geared it up for the more generic summoner/healer and left it, as now it had more of a purpose with the new artifacts.

That being said, MM is an RPG, which stands for more than building up characters levels. It's a Role playing game. Medics have a role. Heal and protect. It's a support class, geared to survive and help others survive, but not necessarily kill. If you want raw pwnage power, just try an adren master. It has a role too, tank. It's my preference for raw pwnage, mainly cause I'm too lazy to level up a WM anymore.

so then don't you think that amplifying its ability to heal a little more wouldn't be a bad idea? so in this RPG it could support better and be able to be a damage taking class on the battle field?

That goes back to balance. Uber healing is too easy. It's not that easy to globe, why should it be that easy to heal? Besides, how many surgeons use a rifle anyways? Can't be that easy either. :munky2:

I chose to be a medic because it's fun and you get a nearly-free inf weapon, but I'm afraid of getting any higher max health because of the time and clicks it takes to heal with the MP5. I think the heal rate should be at least x2 of what it is now.

Mobius just gave me an idea...maybe we could take a leaf out of TF2 and have medics Ubercharge once they've healed a certain amount, using a special gun and/or artifact? They'd gain XP from the other player's (possibly boosted) damage.

Having the Medic gun from TF2 would be awesome.

lol then again how hard would it be to smack someone in the face with a rocket and heal them... and sadly people ask for it.... what a weird concept haha Medics must be pretty good with a gun to do that ^_^

and your right this concept will have to be balanced to its not to easy, and no globing isnt easy, it takes balance to have the right damage, nrg weapons, adren bounuses and ammo to support globing.

once you pass 600 health, it takes a good 3 life burst or about 18 seconds with a mp5 to heal... x2 might be a good rate, still not sure how to incorporate the rate cause I don't know how the system works to make a skill. like idk if its based on damage or just a set rate of heal.
