I'm not sure how much detail you want, but to keep things super simple: DW originally only participated in competitive ONS. When the ladders died, they moved to CoD4 competition.

Even today, DW will encounter weekly competitive matches with other clans (sometimes twice a week). You'll know when you see a whole DW team is gathered in their mysterious private channels in ventrilo :P
& yes, they still conduct semi weekly practices as well ;)
At the moment, I don't think they are in any TF2 Ladders.

The Reader's Digest condensed version about what we compete in...(at least as much as I know!)
DW regularly competed on the TWL ladders in ONS (Onslaught) and TAM (Team Arena Master TDM). As the game aged the competitive ladders grew smaller and smaller. Until at last I think there were maybe 6-7 clans with teams still on the ONS ladder. Things just sorta sat there for a while...and as all TWL things do that are idle, the ladders were shut down. A lot of us still enjoy ripping it up in Spam Vikings! Been thinking about trying to revive the SVA vs. DW matches..or perhaps a monthly invitational or some such...with the server being well populated on a regular basis, it's encouraging these kinds of ideas again! :cheers:
A small period of time elapsed where we were all putting our hopes into UT3. When that failed to capture most of the die hard 2k4 players, we went looking for another game. Call of Duty 4 attracted a fair number of DWs when it came out and not too long after, we were back on the TWL ladders, fielding teams in 5v5 Search & Destroy, 4v4 TDM and most recently 2v2 TDM. We practice officially once a week. However, match schedules can become hectic and lately (with the exception of the Holidays) we have been matching a minimum of once a week and often twice a week! We're currently 6/3 in Search & Destroy, 13/6 in 4v4 TDM and have made several challenges in 2v2 TDM which have gone unanswered so our record is still sitting at 0/0. And yes...if we're "hiding" in the DW Private Channels, we're likely in a match...or furthering our plans for taking over the world! ::evil grin::
Several of us play TF2 but we have no competitive teams for this particular game.
Now that this topic has been ripped off course egregiously...may we please return to the "History of MM Servers"? ;)

Karmakat, I'm not too bad at ONS offline (with a little help from playersonly) :) only joking! If the times I joined the server was a bit more full I would play all the time but it's annoying being online after school for 2 hours on an online server PWNing bots. IF i'm gonna mash something it's got to be monster bots not human bots.
But maybe when I get my new router I'll have more time. :)
UI died because I stopped playing on it. Ok, it wasn't just because of that (maybe 92.4%) The other reason is because Sonic created a stupid store that made it easy for 5 yr old kids to level up. Plus the server crashed constantly and was over run by incompetent server admins. But for the most part it died because I left. Once I left, it ceased to exist. Sonic dumped it for some dumb HTML role-playing game for 5 yr old kids. I'm not saying Sonic likes little boys. It just seems like they flock towards him.
Seriously, MM was (and still is) a breath of fresh air when it was created. Wraith et al do a tremendous job keeping the server fresh and exciting. They made some enhancements that no other server thought of doing. Plus most of the people who play on all their servers are really good people.
