Thats true, but if you have the graphics card that can handle higher rez, then bigger is better to a point.

I remember my first 13" monitor, for an Atari 800 system...lol

I finally ran across the web page that describes colors and decided to post the link for anyone else who may want to know what the differences are concerning 16.2 vs 16.7 million color displays (6-bit vs 8-bit) and what the trade-offs are and how to look for the information. Most stores don't tell you, not even Fry's or Microcenter, but Newegg does, thank god! Not sure when this article was written, so if you assume the display color capabilities based on the speed of the display, that may have changed and the 16.7 color displays probably are faster than what they were when this article was written. Basically, if a company won't state the number of colors their LCD can display, then I pass on it. Another thing to do is test the LCD panel using a color photo with a gradient blue sky and you will see alot more banding in a 16.2 panel vs a 16.7 panel.

The refresh rates of the newer LCD's are all very good, which is why the frame rate is good up to the refresh rate. The refresh rate of an LCD is slightly different then that of a CRT, but generally the refresh rate is proportional to frames per second. A 75Hz refresh rate on your CRT or LCD will display 75 frames per second and no more because the pixels are only refreshing 75 times per second. Some video options allow for sychronizing the video adapter to the refresh rate to optimize apearance.
