Masterbath gets played too much, deathdome, dreamus same thing. Those maps are popular just like gritTmu is, why no pull there. I guess cuz no one complains about those but complain about to many tank maps. My one players complaint dont matter but I like the tank maps, and I hate Masterbath and dreamus. I usually leave for those maps. Thats my comments, maybe someday they'll get pulled for a while. $.02
Well when it comes to maps too many tank maps being voted all consecutively means one has too be pulled so a tank map is pulled. not master bath or Dreamus - a tank map...duh Dreamus is a classic and awesome map that makes you use teamwork unlike many of the tank maps that if you get one particular vehicle a person can own the entire map. ONs is about vehicals but i like to see them integrated not dominating a game!

ya i just meant i hate seeing a good map get pulled just cause its a tank map. yes too many tank maps getting voted consecutivly means a stretch of tank maps, but depending on the interval till they can be voted again means after the tank map stretch its a stretch of non tank maps. No matter what is all still the same maps getting voted for over and over again. At least all the maps that people like to play are still in the rotation. Make the interval like 15 maps now so that the good maps all go through and then maybe some of the other 2 dozen maps that never get played can get some time, thus adding variety. Once again I just meant I hated seeing a good map get pulled.
And I do agree with the thought that its good to have maps the level the field by not having super tanks and nexus tanks to rule with. SCK clan servers never had any supers tanks or even redeemers on them, so i understand the idea of keeping it level. But just cause it has super weps and tank doesnt make the map hard. If someones in the nexus, you hunt it down and kill it. You gang up on the minotaur surrounding it and kill it. One good player in a supertank wont rule the map if the other team communicates and uses teamwork to play the game. Its all even in a sense. No map will be a breeze it the teams are stacked with regards to skill levels. The other day on Dreamus Fondlessweaters was nicely stationed with the goliath and had some linkers assisting him. It was almost impossible to get him killed and get to the nodes. non-supertank maps dont mean that one person cant own the map, cuz he did on that basic map.
Poor or overpowered Vehicles/Weps don't kill a map for me, but shitty node layout or awkward distances will ruin a map for me faster than anything else. However, about 95% of my map complaints would probably have to be centered around an idea Skytech brought up--lousy communication. If you have 5-6 people working together as a team, it doesn't matter what tank the other team is whoring, it doesn't matter if they have 18 people camping the nuke. Coordinate 2 strike teams and maybe 1-2 defense players and the map is over. I bet I'm on alot of mute lists/chat bans because I refuse to quietly accept defeat. Nothing chaps my ass worse than when a team that is perfectly capable of winning actually loses with no contest because they are too lazy or too selfish to communicate. Noobs to the server (and some not-so-noobs) have criticized (read: WHINED) in the past because I talk too much. The last thing I want to do is talk--it takes away from my precious drinking time. However, if other people on teams would attempt to talk and coordinate, you'd never hear a peep from Fondler because he'd be too busy going where he needs to go, building what he needs to build, killing what he needs to kill, etc. The problem arises when nobody communicates to meet these needs, and then people complain because the map sucked. Very rarely are maps won on Spam Vikings due to sheer skill--most likely the winning team was the won that had a couple people talking.
T'was a joke, right? Every time I've logged on over the last two weeks it's been a tank map. Then if I stay on, another usually gets voted :(
Look, I respect the reality that not everyone agrees with or considers important my opinion that these are poorly balanced, buggy maps that remove 80% of the skillset, pace, tactics and overall variety that makes ONS beautiful, and essentially turns it into a 1-speed exercise in who can camp the biggest tank until the clock runs out.
But some further balancing in how often these maps can be played would be nice. Even if it's just to prevent two tank maps from being voted consecutively.
Anyway, that’s my piece. May thy universes sparkle mightily
Mayhaps we could take a survey of all the TankMeUp maps and keep the one or two most popular and then send the others on a vacation? What do ya think?
Well if we are going to vote, then I'm okay for Minus or Grit Nights to be pulled temporarily.
Hmmm, is it possible to toggle map's appearance to the list every week without manually doing so? Because that'll keep things fresh, and I have a feeling that the tank maps wont dry up so fast ;)
