i think a cool idea is to have the top players in each map become the lucifers. it'll add some spice to the game and more competiton. i remember Unreal Insanity doing this. what do you say

Uh....Not only no but He double hockey sticks no! that is the most UI cloning worst idea I ever heard. I for one would not be playing much longer if the Mash got that lame concept going!

I would like to see something like this too, but there are some things that would have to be worked out.

1. Do the top players gain experience as Lucifer?
2. How do we prevent exploiting where players either sacrifice themselves to give easy EXP to the Lucifer player, or Lucifer sacrifices himself to players?
3. How do you prevent Lucifer from just running away from players so the timer runs out? Sitting in a corner doesn't seem like Lucifer's style.
4. Even assuming players would actually play this scenario as it is intended (unlikely), how much tweaking would have to be involved? I can tell you straight off that even subpar players aren't going to sit there shooting invulnerable "tankers," so players would actually have to dramatically change tactics to be successful. It seems unlikely that would go over well with players who are used to their one strategy working and then all of a sudden it doesn't.

If you have any decent ideas on how to resolve these, then feel free to suggest them. Otherwise I don't see it happening.

1,2,3) One solution I can see is that the top players do get exp for winning as luci only if all the other players are eradicated. Players would get exp for killing all the lucis as always. If time runs out before lucis or players are gone none are rewarded exp. The motivation of exp should be enough to keep the lucis fighting and not sacrificing themselves.

4) Its not impossible to win if this does become a reality. many times I remember getting owned by a null (petrification) gun and a tanker. Also like thses new monsters and adjusted waves, players will adapt

I also would stop playing should this occur, it is a horrible idea and the fact that MM doesnt have this mod is what sets it apart (and above) from the other servers. if this was added it would also open the floodgates of other things such as res.

Not trying to be rude but can a person who opposes this idea elaborate more on why it is bad instead of just saying "its a terrible idea." I don't see how this can turn anyone off so much.

No, I don't need to elaborate, in fact, I don't even need to discuss this further, Wraith would never force that stupid mod upon us, and arguing over it is merely an exercise in hypothetical situations.

im simply suggesting the idea not demanding it be done. One idea leads to more ideas. i just want more difficulty. (dont tell me to simply make another character) :blackeye:

As far as this idea goes im not sure.. it sounds interesting and it's not necessarily a bad idea but as Wail posted.. there's a lot to think about to make it work..

The whole wave 16 thing is far too easy atm.. the final wave should be a challenge, not free xp.

Hummm I think this is a rehash of the same conversation we had a long time ago, people. I don't understand the idea of wanting to become Luci. We work to get to Luci together, as a TEAM to get to the final boss, we kill the boss as a TEAM, not have the best players in the server become Luci. I for one, do not believe players becoming the final boss a worth while way to finish wave 16. If you are uber bored then you need to make a new character. I have more than 4 that i use on a regular basis. I do not own every map, all the time. That is a good alternative that you obviously don't want to hear about. I have helped with these servers from concept to implementation, to day to day watching and I find it most irritating that you want to bring a concept from server that died to this one. When the Luci mod was put on UI we had a huge influx of players because it was terrible for others playing.

The average player will never be Luci on our server. What about times when the server level is low and as you approach wave 16 you get a high level player join! the luci will die and die fast because the top level player in the server will, 1 become luci, or 2 the average player in with the highest score will become luci and get wasted by the joining high level.

I have no issue with bring new ideas to spark innovation, but this sir is ot a new idea and it sparks no excitement for me about the game.

Maybe you need to take a break from the game for awhile, or pick maps that are not so easy, either way I will not comment about this post or idea again.
