Some people have been wanting to see some of my artwork. I did a quick sketch about 20 minutes ago to test out my new Intuos4 and check out it's capabilities. I must admit, i am quite impressed. Here is an eye in GIMP with the Intuos4:

EDIT: The line to the left of the eye is not the side of the head but the side of her nose.

Wow, neat. Lots of detail in the reflection for a quick sketch...

How long would that take you to do with the mouse?

With the mouse? Honestly, I wouldn't even attempt it. Last time I tried to sketch something of such detail with the mouse I got frustrated after about an hour or so and said "f@$& this, I'm buying a graphics tablet!"

EDIT: I'm sure it is possible but with the mouse being so inaccurate it can be very tedious and aggravating that it is easily worth the investment to buy a graphics tablet if you are an artist. Also as an artist, it is nice to be able to tilt and angle your canvas or the surface for which you apply your medium which makes the tablet even nicer because I can always move it about to get the correct angle and brush strokes, like a drawing tablet placed on your lap.
