I ll start this off.
Great looking map but for my setup just about unplayable.
AMD 3200 socket 727 ? something like that
1 gig ram
9600 ati card.
Im tweeked out for fps play 800-600 etc not getting much better than 35 ave fps.
Maybe this map could be halfed or something. I dunno if the sheer size makes a differance with FPS but it seems like a great map but i cant really try it out due to low FPS.

18 FPS but being in a scorpion the whole time it doesnt really mean much to me. The map is covered with water, and waterfall effects. This hammers FPS. Try lowering your detail settings and that may help. Also the meshes in the core area have way to many pollys for the average machine to handle.
The map itself has a few faults, some dodgy blocking volumes and it needs a better node setup. But I liked it a lot.

Yeah, I see some stutter too, and I have a x850xt, 64 3200+ (OCed to 2.3). 1 gig a ram. and this is the only map that will cripple my maxed out settings. I also get stuck in invisible "walls" or something when I go through some of the smaller passage ways.

I agree with your inability to get much FPS from your videocard. If I'm not mistaken, it is a 4 pipeline GPU. My "test" videocard has an 8 pipeline GPU and is what I use as a base reference in that if it plays smooth on it, a map should play well in 32 player mode. I bought the 6600GT nvidia card with 256MB ram from newegg for my machine at work.

This card will make your play alot better at a higher resolution.
There is more optimization that can be done on the map, but I don't know if its enough to make your framerates get high enough to satisfy you. Unless Toxic requests more optimization, I am going to put it on hold for awhile, as I have several projects going and less time to work on them.
I don't know when/if your planning on upgrading your system, but its the only suggestion I have at the moment. The biggest bottleneck from what you listed in your specs is the videocard.

oops, Did I do that? That one probably came from me. Let me know where it is. I get really aggresssive with trying to shut of terrain polys that are not needed and sometimes get too close to the edge.joeblow wrote:Yep good to add...... I fell into a crack and walked off the map. I cant remember the node number but it was next after the core. Ill edit it when I pay it again.

I also noticed around a lot of the rock outcroppings when heading to the middle the invisible blocking volumes extend far from the outcroppings. So when I am trying to hug the wall, I get stuck, and I have to back up and move a couple of game "feet" away to get around them.
Hornet, I understand your pain. But if you saw this map before Wraith got a hold of it, you would not believe the difference.
I would have thought people by now would have vid cards capable of a map like this. As much as I love it, I think I need to remove it.

That was what I was talking about, could not figure out how to describe it though.ToxicWaste wrote:I also noticed around a lot of the rock outcroppings when heading to the middle the invisible blocking volumes extend far from the outcroppings. When we played this map yesterday, I had a lot of problems. I tried rebooting between teh matches and still had issues.
Some lag in certain parts of the map. Plus, like Toxic mentioned, there are a lot of blocking volumes that extend further than the rocks, so you end up getting hung up on invisible crap.
Beautiful map, just not very playable in my opinion. Plus, it is so huge, that unless you have a lot of people, you end up flying back and forth between the same nodes.
