Well with both mice, you wont have to deal with the balls getting in the way. Im actaully suprised you dont like the copperhead. Did you get a chance to feel the wieght of the mx518? The g5 comes with a weight system to modify/ balance the wieght of the mouse, also uses a laser instead of optical. Which is supposidly better for tracking, btw your mouse pad makes a diffrence too. If those 2 features are worth your ~20$ get the g5 .
::snicker:: No balls...this is a good thing..those unexpected discharges were getting tiresome!

I have a Speed Pad (and no, it's not one of those torture devices from Nostromo!...it's a mouse pad from a company called ITC, which is probably out of business by now!)...but it's kinda small. What do you guys think about the ones from Razer???

I liked everything about the Copperhead except those silly side buttons! Why they couldn't make them more textured or spaced a little bit apart is beyond me. I could kinda tell which one I was pushing on the pinky finger side, but on the thumb side, the buttons rest on the ball of the thumb and that area of the thumb is not anywhere near sensitve enough to tell whether you're pushing the fore or aft button.

The MX518 weight was okay...maybe a little on the light side actually. But what I didn't like about it was the feet. Prior experience with similar mouse designs have made me unhappy with mouse feet that small! They gather lint, dust, oil from your skin...whatever...way too quickly..and require frequent cleaning.

-- Just so you know I use the G5 from logitec ,, I set the weight to like 18grams now - Thats a cool feature.. and not to mention the really high qlty laser for sensitivity and microscopic readings of movement '' -- But theres a couple of things i dont like about it .. one is the weel button -- is way to sensitive for scrolling but for the push down function it is really hard to press Believeme really hard! if you planing on using it ..- I had my flack keybinded to that function in my old mouse so I had to change it for this one to the single side button it has at the thumb possition .. It got so much resistance to press it down .. and what it does when you try to press it is that the really high sensitivity of the scrolling function activates and makes you swich to other weapons or zoom in or out your view as those are the defaults functions for the weel button ingame.. The other is the wire.. I thought it was a soft wire but is like kind of even harder than the regular mouse's so you got to give it a really long sleet otherwise your mouse is going to be moving by its own wire specially if you take off all the weight or put just alittle weight on it ... at playtime.. I like the feet' it's got make it go really nicely over almost any surface for that matter ..

G5 has some pluses and minuses...I admit it...I'm a tech geek...if it's got more buttons, adjustments or features...I'll like it! :colors:
Like the weight adjustments...imagine it'll take some time to tweak out. Like the laser...even like the feet....nice PTFE pads! I do have some reservations about the wheel button. Didn't notice it at first, but besides clicking and scrolling, it tilts left and right. I'm thinking that's probably the reason it's so hard to click with. Perhaps this will soften up over time. We'll see. Far as the wire covering goes...it looks like some kinda fabric. It didn't seem stiff in the store. So maybe Weasel's right and they changed it since you bought yours, aLpHa.

I love my Mx510, it has lasted a very long time (got it when it first came out , 2 years ago maybe) Fits my hands perfect, have all the 8 buttons assigned to some weapon. The precision is great for me. The only time it gets annoying is when the (rather deep) optical chamber gets filled with a cat hair...then I end up shooting my foot.

Also, I think I have bad posture with my arms or something as my wrists get really fatigued after a while. I have an adjustable chair with padding on the arm rests, and i Have wrist rests for my keyboad and mouse. I find that after awhile I am usually resting alot of weight on these rests is this bad?

LOL!! Cat hair...I can sympathsize! What's worse is one of our cats likes to chew on plastic! Mouse and headset cords were doomed! So, no more cats allowed in the 'puter room!
Try raising your chair and/or chair arm height to support more of the weight onto your forearms. Ideally, you want as little pressure on your wrists as possible, just enough to maintain control. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which will really put a crimp in your playing style!

Thanks for all your input guys! :flower:

I wish cheap would adopt the no cats in the computer room. Every once in awhile you hear, MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. on vent. Apparently he ran the cat over with the chair.

Alot of players like the G5. I think the PTFE feet would work nice with the speed pad.

I use the mx1000 with the tilt button. If you program your
tilt as a letter in mouseware, unused letter, then
set that letter in 2004 as a funtion it should work fine.
I have shock and flack on my tilt, works ok. I think I learned
this from Bomse. Cheap
