Mantas have no problem getting into the fenced areas, right now aireal vehicles are the only ones that can. I rather not have gaps as wraith alluded too the static meshes dont always cooperate, and they are fine now. However as long as they are still present they will stop a bender, tank, or scorp from going inside. All in all, its not alot of timesavings for anyone but a foot soldier.

Wraith the version you can download of the site i listed is the original, which has tons of mines you will not be able to get into the fenced areas. There is the beta1 on my ftp folder if you want to grab it from there.

Yes zax sticking a cicada at node 7 has crossed my mind. Also swaping tanks positions with paladins, and vice versa has too.

Is this for public consumption? Would love to look at a beta of this one for commentary purposes. Fence changes sound ok from your descriptions but as always a first hand look will tell me for sure.

You don't need to bother with anything like that. There are tons of free online file hosting services out there these days. Here are a bunch that I either already knew of or that I found in a 15-sec Google search:

There are no major changes to the map, just trying to enhance gameplay.

I may just break down the fences like at the core, the midget fences just dont look right.

Ok after spending alot of time screwing with the fences, ive decided to ditch that idea. Its way to tedious, and just doesnt look right. There are no group selection possible, thus killing any shortcut. So the fences are broken to make troop movement better, some places the ends are closer to allow a person in (last sections post).

Classic ut sniper rifle and mines are out of every weapon locker. Removed avril and link pickups around the map and placed in weapons locker.

I'd love to comment on all the changes you're trying out but I can't get this map to show up in my listing. Are all needed files included in the download?

Somehow the default gametype was switched to VCTF. I hate vctf, like with a passion. So this natrually angers me. I will upload a fixed version tonight.

BTW the map is reporting 2884 Static meshes, that wont be a problem for the server right?

I think these weapon lockers are fine. Removed both deemers and placed Double damage instead. Thought of adding spider mines, but i wouldnt know where to do it, maybe on top of one of the rocks.

Here is a download link. If anyone can come up with any ideas for more nodes please mention them. Just becuase they are there doesnt mean we have to use them.

alright so at you request hornet i checked this out and the main problem i see right now is your lockers. you are way way way way way way way way way too giving at some of them. for example at the bases you have every weapon slot filled but mini and flak. there is never a reason for a node to give you at a weapons locker shock, lg and avrils. that just screams MOLLY CODDLE. i hate to say this but pub play is like competition in some regards. you want the resources to be managed properly for a good game. by giving all three of the major anti vehicle weapons you promote spamming and only serve to make things long and dran out and boring. think of the end game of Arctic stronghold. If a team loses their primary it becomes a constant boring battle at that primary which is pretty bad. To solve such a problem hornet i would consider removing some of the weapons from some of the lockers. or if you are dead set against that limit the ammo count. for example cut the 15 avrils down to 5 and the 35 shock to 20. this will still make things spammy but wil=l make players run out of ammo much quicker. another option is to make some of the weapons individual pick ups. llike put the LG at a high vantage point or the shock near that 100a that is in between the base and one of the primaries. (SPider mines would be good on this map but i would have to go over things more to figure out a placement)

the second issue i have with your map is some of the vehicle placements and the vehicles themselves. you have far too many scorpions. i mean one side alone will have a total 7 scorpions and that is if both teams are even and the middle node isnt up yet. That is a lot. You also have room to put in some ECE stuff. A SPMA at node 2 and 5 instead of one of those scorpions would work very well since the map is large and has lots of cover. this will make using the SPMA actually very effctive and will force the other team to sacrifice resources to take it out. You also give very little reward for having the middle. You get a paladin and a manta. I would say make the lockers there pretty dang weak and replace the manta with a Cicada. that way the purpose of gaining the middle is to get the cicada but with weak lockers you force a team to rely on what they get as well as the paladin to keep things up.

My best suggestion would be just to hop on vent with me sometime and we can go over things in more detail. but this is just my quick observations. im also on xfire a lot: sweettooth1
