Yes. I keep getting this pop-ups, that come up. No matter what website, even on this one, that say 'You're computer is infected with adware and malicious viruses' blah blah blah blabedey blah blay MALARKEY. Then the computer goes and tries to download crap twice, you know, the screen that says 'open, save, cancel, or more info'? It's gotten to the point that I'm thinking of reinstalling windows just to shut it up (this is my mom's comp). Just thought I'd rant here because I'm so freakin' pissed :mumum: :rip:  :minigun:  :flak: :plasma: ARGH.
/end rant. Thank you for your time, and attention.

- IF windows XP - Use the System Restore tool - To take your computer to a point in the past where it was all nice and tidy --
- Start -
- All Programs -
- Accessories-
- System Tools -
- System Restore -
In the opened window . Clik on NExt
Theres a Calendar there choose go back the time you consider necessary Usualy when you last remember it was a good pc .. You can go back days and months whichever ..
Pick a number on the calendar from the ones on bold and look at the right and choose a point . Then Clik on NExt ... Save your Work and Clike on NExt again .. Wait till your pc Restores and Restarts by itself ..
If the SR went well youll have a positive prompt , if not youll have a couldnt restore to that point message.. then Try another point , another time , another day if still not succes then yeah .. Basicaly Reformat and Install Windows again ..
Usually this will get rid of any virus, spyware , addware , xml redirectors , downloaders , etc etc your pc might have ..
NOTE : System Restore will erase all kinds of executables that didnt exist at the time of the choosen restore point , will make changes to .ini files to again the way they were on the choosen restore point . It will not delete personal files such as documents.. pictures , videos , or music and Its totally reversible .

 First hornet says 'stop downloading porn' and then namu comes and says gay porn? WTF? BTW Alpha, I have Win2k, I checked, it doesn't have what you said. Kae - It's Ultimate Defender and WinAntivirus, which is weird cuz I didn't download anything from them. When I do research I just go to the wikipedia. It must've been something my brothers did, I don't go outside my regular sites either, while they go surfing the web looking for game sites.

Well I googled 'Drive Cleaner Popups', and there's an entire website devoted to this. I am currently doing stuff, and hopefully it will be fixed.
haha. Catching a spyware/virus on Win2k is a tough one, so I must say "Well done!" :bounce:
You don't have many helpful options comming from the Operating System, so you should consider the OS reinstall as your best option, as I don't think fighting spyware without any success is worth more than 2-3 hours.
First of all, what type of popup is it exactly? Looks like an Operating System type of error, or just more like an Internet Explorer popup? Does it happen if you use a different browser, such as Firefox? Since when it started happening?
There are several descent Antispyware software around, so you could try any. I use the one that comes with XP Tools, as it also includes a nice registry optimization option. If its a virus, then you are on the hands of your antivirus software, but it also depends how good and updated it is.
Since Win2k does not have a MSCONFIG option, you can download a cool little program called "Startup CPL" (do a search on google) so you can disable the 3rd party apps starting when your computer boots up. This plus the antispyware software should do the trick. If not, then reinstall the OS.
Oh and btw, stay away from pr0n. Just wait for college and you'll see it live. :clown:
