Anyone else interested in getting a Wii?
Thinking about it.... Waiting to see how the games for it will be and if game developers decide to make lots of games for it. It's Nintendo, so we'll see. With their last two systems, I haven't been impressed though I still own them :).

I am definitely interested in the Wii, primarily b/c of the new Zelda for it. However, I will not be pre-ordering anything as the fate of a console is hard to tell. I did however pre order Final Fantasy 12, and IT IS AWESOME!!! So that will hold me over till I can stomach a Wii purchase.

If Wii is the next Nintendo (I never seen that abbreviation before) then HELL YES. If only for the next Zelda, like Namu. I'm a die-hard Zelda fan.

The Wii is grossly underpowered compared to what else is available.
The Xbox 360 demands payment for online play (meaning most people will say f**k it because we dont want to pay for games after we've already bought them).
The Playstation 3 is going to be around 550 quid (or around the 1000 dollar mark).
PC games are becoming incompatable with the standard hardware most PCs are equiped with (look at UT2007 ffs!).
Us gamers are in for what the naturalists call "a mass extinction". Seriously, the new stuff that is coming out is crap. It may be have better graphics and sound, but its still the same old same old for around 3 times the price. Not worth it. So we either get ripped off or boycott it until they drop the prices to something more reasonable.

Aren't you kind of taking Nintendo's side on this then? The whole point of the Wii is not the graphics but the gameplay.

The PS3 has already been slated for 500 US Dollars. As for the Wii being underpowered issue, well Nintendo is going with evolving games in a different way: Interaction, as opposed to more polys and shader units...

Yeah but I am thinking that the gameplay on this is going to be pretty lame. Look at the controller, its got even less buttons than the current console. Also, Nintendo have a track record of delivering crap IMO. Mario episode 5000 etc.
