Discussed with several of the players. A way of getting around the
need for the store is to have a higher rate of artifact generation.
Played on a server tonite that used this instead of a store. I think it
may be a reasonable alternitive. Several of us thought that it worked
well. :argue:

Yes, I can control that. I can also increase the number of artifacts you can hold at one time. And I can start you off at a higher default level.

I like the artifact idea - I think those are cool - what pisses me off though is when I kill a monster and some punk-ass runs up and snags my artifact b4 I can get too it. is it possible to make those people explode and go down 10 levels?

but really really seriously - I think INV is "ok." I like it as a nice change of pace, and esp. nice late at night when I want something to do before bed, but don't want to get all rilled up. My biggest complaint with it is that the AI of the monsters is really really bad at times. I don't feel like I am shooting fish in a bucket - more like dumb ass fish in a bucket. I would like to see ours have "smarter" monsters, if at all possible.

Also many of the guy that don't have problems with the bosses have more levels than half the guys on the server combined.
That is what is screwing the game up for you . If you didn't have that guy with 250 pre-paid levels , it makes the monsters a little easier from what I understand , the higher the level of players on the server makes monsters more difficult. Seeing as how you will have to earn those levels , the monsters shouldn't be quite so tough. Everyone will start on more of an equal playing feild . Hopefully making it better for all .
The shop doesn't replace these but gives a player the opportunity to customize or even change a negative weapon into something useful
But thats the point of being given a negative weapon , to either make u work with what you have or get lucky enough to get relic . Otherwise your stuck with it . If you happen to be so unlucky to come up with something you don't want , that is the name of the game . Not just spend some change and make it Vorpal .

I go way back with RPG , every once in awhile that 20 sided die comes up snake eyes . Thats what it's about , learning to deal with it. IMHO >

I like the shop , but I think it sorta warps the idea behind RPG .

I think the only thing this guy has done differanly is added the earning of cash and linking it to the inventory. Just turn inventory on , after I played the other place for an hour , I could buy anything I wanted . ONce I spent some time with my souped up weapons I made my money back . Thus no real need for credits . Just open the store. Whatever..... :blackeye: . I don't know . If it were up to me you wouldn't get it , if you keep it make it free seems easy enough .

I feel a vote comin on .

I, like everyone else, just got addicted to invasion. I like having the ability to choose different types, like Medic or weapons master (I'm a medic), and I kind of feel that the store defeats the purpose of the special classes. I like the idea of just distributing more artifacts. I'd rather have a stable server over a store.

Did you ever play Shadow Run? That was my favorite - I go back to geekdom a bit too :tongue:

Well actually the store should be there for all, but for any weaponry powerups should only be available to weapon masters. Also a way to transfer funds for a weapons upgrade would be nice.

The problem with invasion is it has very little to do with teamwork. The RPG specific abilities you gain aren't differentiated enough where you need to work as a team. Usually it ends up degenerating into a link and mine contest for xp. With having to keep your trans near a medic at all times for quick healing. This could be solved by giving medics to power to heal in a radius, or adren masters will drip adrenaline to players near them ect.

Nope never played it , I'm old school RPG <> Paper and Dice, been awhile. Still have my origianal players handbook and dungeon master guides along with one of my original players.

If you guys are old school RPG then I'm a fossil. Shadow Run, D&D, AD&D, Robotech, Mechwarrior, you name it I played it. I just hope their is a DW RPG invasion server. I think it could match anything out there.
