Oh don't mind hornet he just doesn't like SLI, I for one love it! I play more than just UT as many gamers do and I have been able to play games at better settings than most people with a single card better than the my single card, especially at the higher resolutions. Especially my strategy and RPG games.

Rob looks good how can you be sure it will not be one of the bad boards with the 680i. I think you should consider the MSI board, Tom's gives it great OC ability and features. As far as memory check with the board and see because that will determine more than anything what it will take as far as brands.

I swear by the g15 great keyboard. I think I will be taking a hard look at the g9 mouse as well!

Regarding memory : 1066 is fine for the motherboard, its just a fair bit more expensive and i don't know cost/performance ratio if you know what i mean.

Afaik regarding 680i, it's a matter of old and new boards.

I liked the sli idea because the 8800gt is going to have to be on sale at some point, perhaps used etc. Small price for a (hopefully) considerable boost.

I just need some help regarding power/cooling as i'm a total noob!

Asus Striker Exteme V2 NF680i SLI, S 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 533/667/800, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX

Change of motherboard.

Still completely in the dark about cooling!
