Well I dont know if I believe it or not, regardless I think after this mess up of UT3 the unreal series is practicly dead.

Any microsoft interest in epic would surely drive them towards more xbox titles probably whoring out the gow series till another sad death of a great first title.

I dont think microsoft would push epic away from the Pc market as the xbox still isnt really a main contender in the console world yet the ps3 looks set to out sell the xbox360 in europe by the end of summer with its year later release as well.

You're kidding, right?

The xbox 360 is about to hit the 18 million mark, while PS3 just barely got past the 10 million mark at the end of December. The only reason PS3 has sold a lot recently is because of the holidays not having a lot of Wiis around and because the price dropped. It also sells better in Japan than the xbox naturally, but in the US the xbox is the top dog. The Wii has sold over 20 million world wide btw.

As far as the Europe stat I have no clue - I'll take your word for it - but the main markets right now are in Asia and N.A.

Every single student I teach that plays competitively plays on the xbox 360. The only two kids I knew that were pc gamers (one used to be in our TAM server a lot) are now in clans that play on the xbox 360. It may not be today, but that is the future of gaming if things continue to go the way they do. The current generation of gamers are not seeing the PC as the next vehicle for gaming.

PS3 may have a say in how well they do next generation, only if they shed that incredibly large ego beforehand.

If they produced graphix cards that would run these games for 100$ you would see a resurgence in the PC market .....

I can only speak for a European market, where the speed of sales for the PS3 looks set to pass the 360 by the summer which given the shorter period of time released leads me to believe that the PS3 still is the big name in consoles in europe at least.

Plus with titles being released on the PC now such as GOW and Mass Effect I see no real reason to buy a 360 over a PS3 any more.

I honestly, don’t like consoles. Is way too much money for just gaming, I rather have a PC where you can do so much more. Although, I must admit that I had a lots of fun playing Wii the other day. :blackeye:

I think the graphics of the PS3 are amazing and the best out there in the current console generation, I just think its really funny how the CEO talked all this smack towards Nintendo about how they would again dominate the market. I just love the fact that he's eating his words right now, so part of me hopes the PS3 doesn't do very well.

I am totally PC as well, but the other thing consoles have that PCs don't is the ability to multi-play in the same location. You can go over to a buddies place and four people can play against each other and online. My wife and I have had 3 Wii parties now and they are just so much fun. The last one we had 12 people including ourselves and ran a little tournament - it was a blast =P

Yeah consoles are expensive, but in a price to player ratio they are cheaper.

Time will tell what will come of us...

My boss has a 8600 GT(S) for his media PC that he just built. It is hooked up to HD. I think it is 720p. It runs CoD4 just fine. Of course, that is a lower resolution than my 1680x1050. I haven't looked at his FPS, but visually, it looks fine.

i hope the ps3 fails just cause they make crappy products that stop working for no good reason. at least with the wii there's no danger of overheating due to technology they can't seem to get a good grip on...
and somehow i don't think microsoft will make graphics cards as long as the xbox is still around.
