DFI NF4 Ultra-D
Mushkin Redline XP4000
Stock FX-60 cooler, but with a Tornado strapped on it.
Four more Tornados for case airflow
a 60mm YS Tech fan on the Ram

I backed off the 2880 a bit. Now @ 2860, 260 FSB 5200, with 1T timings.

It's very stable. 20 hours prime, but I might still play to see if I can get more CPU love, because I'm only in the low 50's temp wise with full load.

Have you looked into Panasonic Panaflo fans for cooling? They carry the highest MTBF rating through the use of its hydro wave bearing. The only negative with these fans is that they don't support RPM monitoring.

I might be totaly wrong as i have only been a It consultant for a 8 months and still have a lot to learn but the DFI NF4 Ultra-D is a dual core board correct ???

If thats right what processors are you planning on using ? If you have already said sorry lol still a lil technical for me...

Originally that board was just the basic Socket 939 single core board with fx support. But thankfully with a simple BIOS update it will support dual core :). Which is what my eventual plan will be in a couple months once I get the money....as the 3200+ is not cutting it for me.

So does the fact that I played Grit Nights tonight mean the new box is up and running? :pirate:

Nope, it means I figured out what was wrong with the server, and now I have a solution (FX-60) without a problem to solve.

Just out of curiosity, what was originally wrong with the server that was causing so much CPU usage?
