We could go back and forth with different scenarios ad infinitum. The main dislike I have of the map is the map, regardless of the vehicles in it (and as I said, I don't hate it, i just don't think it's that good). IMO it is much more like Battlefront than MasterBath (i.e. boring 8 times out of 10 as opposed to fun, even if you lose).

Can i just point out that everyone was once an inexperienced player. How are the inexperienced players meant to learn how to use the tanks n stuff if all you experienced players bitch everytime someone trys to use one, everyone needs to learn how to use them so quit bitching when you dont get your favourite tank. Oh and i am one of those inexperienced players on ONS, there are plenty people that will vouch for that, and i rarely ever get in a tank because the experienced players scream down the mic to get out and bitch until we do, think its not frustrating when that happens to the inexperienced players? so what you lose a map cause someone wanted to learn how to use a mino, ion or levi get over it its not the end of the world. As for Death Dome just ask, not tell, not shout, not scream down the mic, ASK people to go help up top and they generally will...

That may be the main reason why people like to play tank me ups. Since there are so many tanks out there, players don't really care what you do with the goliath, and it may be the only map where they can jump into a big vehicle without a angry person breathing over their shoulders.

I guess I'm considered an "experienced" player, but I don't use vehicles if I don't have to (with 2 exceptions). There only 2 vehicles I will occasionally whore, the goliath in MB and the Ion in MTMU, but if anyone ever asks to drive or complains, I stop using it for the rest of the match.

Now on the "but how am I supposed to learn excuse"... This is one of my pet peeves. UT2k4 was my return to the FPS genre, and I started off as bad as one could possibly be. My skillset was limited to mini, avrils, and mines. I slowly improved to be an average ONS player, and then I discovered spectating. Today the vast majority of my knowledge, skills, and tactics is due to spectating other players:

Flak primary - Urtho
Flak alt - Cornholio
Shockcombo - M1lkshake
Shock primary - Rider
Rockets - Cyrus
Lightning gun - alpha
Tanks - Jdub
Ion tank - Cornholio
Manta - Chococake
Cicada - 5thSymphony, Conviction
Biorifle - ???, Pixie, Riddick
Movement - L10Alton, Various others
General ninja tactics - Urtho, Pi, Choco, etc..
Grenades & spidermines - online videos
Aim/Keybinds/Mouse tweaks - various pure. members (they have some very helpful guides posted in their forums)
Countless other tricks, tips, & tactics - Everyone

I went from as bad any ut player could ever be to average on my own, but it took spectating, a willingness to learn, and changing old habits to improve after that.

As for people's bitching in general, just press esc, right click their name, and ignore their voice and text.

HAHAHA ask anyone who knows me, i already have 3/4 of the people muted =D one step ahead of ya on that one hehe.

As for the learn by spectating yes you can learn alot by watching other people but your never going to learn how to actually fly a manta or a raptor or how to do lots of other things without actually doing it yourself. I still have not worked out what the dam down button is on a raptor lol.

Down in vehicles is the same as crouch when on foot.

I still wonder why a map gets pulled cuz its too popular. It gets played too much so take it out rotation. For that matter then alot of others should be pulled as well. Masterbath gets played too much, deathdome, dreamus same thing. Those maps are popular just like gritTmu is, why no pull there. I guess cuz no one complains about those but complain about to many tank maps. My one players complaint dont matter but I like the tank maps, and I hate Masterbath and dreamus. I usually leave for those maps. Thats my comments, maybe someday they'll get pulled for a while. $.02
