Yeah and the Starbolt Interceptor iz teh roxorz! It may not seem to be effective but it shoots aircraft down sooo fast, very nice to control the air.
Air Mars I've gotten used to... it's not as bad as it was without the new node config (but I never vote for it anyway). The new Gorz version is sweet, but maybe the original Air Mars should be taken off. Just my opinion. Added ground fighting would be a nice experiment too.
it seems about the same for bitchslap, which is way better without mines, but it might be better as Bitchslap_noslapnominesnotank, because the tank seems to be the dominant "spam effect" (sorry Vic, lol). Then it definitely wouldn't be so bad to play.

Air Mars
Not a fan of airmars either, however the newer version seems to work better. The old one was too easy to defend once you had the center nodes and some people who knew what they were doing. This one at least allows you to play with people who think they are playing death match.
Also, I appreciate the new vehicles as well. It adds a bit of variety to the game.

I'm a fan of Air Mars. Someone's got to stick up for it.
I have just been on your server playing this and I noticed you are running some quite old rides there. The falcons and wasps have changed quite a bit since that version. I've fixed a lot of playability issues with Airmars and am still trying to improve it. Would you be interested in the next one? And if so is there anything you would like to see added?
EDIT: I'll also be embedding everything in the map file to make things easy on everyone.

Sounds wonderful Gorzakk. Sorry, I'm just so busy I have a hard time keeping up with things.
Ugh, Airmars is such a nice concept, but so hard to make a REALLY good playable map. Let's hear some feedback from people. Anyone have any good ideas to make AirMars a little more playable?
But please do send that on. Also, if you have a reworked Adara that's ready for primetime, send that on as well.

Well, like I mentioned above, I personally cannot stand the original version of AirMars. I believe the problem is in the link layout. Once a team has a hold of the main ship in the middle, it is near impossible to comeback because both of those nodes are so hard to attack. And you cannot go to the next wave of nodes without holding the main ship.ToxicWaste wrote:Sounds wonderful Gorzakk. Sorry, I'm just so busy I have a hard time keeping up with things.

However, the one with the Gorz vehicles has a much better link layout. WIth each team getting a dedicated node in the ship, you can have a ground attack thing going on for the central node. However you don't have to hold the central node to attack the next tier of nodes. This one has grown on me quite a bit. The onely thing that I would add would maybe be some jump points between the floating bodies. However, that may be difficult to pull off. I am trying to do that in a map I am working on right now and once you get over a certain distance, your jump velocity won't carry you any further.
Yeah jumps are a pain in the arse on UT. I could put small platforms in, but it would take a long time to walk across so there would be no point. I am looking at doing something more dynamic with the main airship interior to give those who dont like flying something interesting to do. What do we think about the vehicles in this map BTW? The Wasp is getting an overhaul and the Falcon already has been overhauled for the next version. Anything else grab you as necessary?
A-HA! Fiddling with it now, maybe a way to make it completely DM friendly. Jump pads are too far from the motherships unless their is somewhere closer...
Add some jumpers to the side nodes also, and its possible to get anywhere on this map on foot once the spur node inside the airship is charged. Ok ladies and gentlemen, what do you think?

Why not transporters instead?
Or even better, high speed cars going across the platforms, a la the underground tunnels in Grit Nights?
