I've seen a few adrenaline masters who could care less if they die or not since they don't lose anything. I don't want that to be the case to the medic.

The teleporter idea won't be hard to code, but I don't think that's a need. Three problems, people may use this artifact to get to places they shouldn't (like getting to a section of the map that's not available until a later wave). People could cheat the secret by teleporting there instantly rather doing the process of getting there. Lastly is that there are often too many inventory spots, chances are the medic will have to teleport hundreds of times to get everything. I think it'll be faster just to trans around or, if enabled, the hoverboard.
Very good point... I forgot about that little detail Ant.
You are very right...

Ok, well... how about Medics have a choice of 3 weapons max, to keep for the whole match, once you pick them up.
For intance, you can create an artifact called Back up, and use it to back up 3 weapons.
Say you want to keep Link Gun, Rocket Launcher, and Mine Layer, you simply use the back up artifact, and if you die... the next wave you respawn with those 3 weapons, and keep them for the entire match, even if you die again.

What do you think?

EDIT:
Furthermore, you wont lose those 3 weapons even if you convert them into medic weapon, you still get to keep them instead of them disappearing from your arsenal as usual.

I think that idea is better than recall level 3. Not only it saves your favorite weapons, but it also removes junk weapons you don't want to keep.
The difference between successful people from others is
not in the lack of strength,
not in the lack of knowledge,
but rather in the lack of will.

Medics recalling magic weapons, I would say 1 weapon would be the maximum. 3 weapons is basically "all of them" because the weapons you want are MP5, Link, Flak, and Shock (or Mines if you're lazy). The rest are kind of unimportant, and one of those is going to be your Medic weapon anyway.

I can see Medics being able to spawn with 1 or 2 additional non-magic weapons. That said, I'm not really too keen on buffing the Medic up in that way. I do like that when a Medic dies you often have to run around to pick up stuff afterwards.

:ssurprised:

Some form of recall for medics would not alter class balance since weapons are a key element to all classes. It's not like it would change the balance of power as would giving medics the ability to have recall 3, resupply 4, loaded artifacts, and loaded weapons. :sgiggle:

The sugestion is to recall 3 non magic weapons.
Shall you die, the next time you respawn... you respawn with 3 backed up weapons in non magic state.
You would still have the choice to have only 1 magic weapon, but the ability to recall up to 3 weapons.

I don't think it would beef up the medic, but would give it a fair balance.
I still don't understand why the medics lose their weapons after converting another one to medic weapon.
I would say that the medic actually needs something to be fairly balanced with the other classes.

I agree with the latest idea. I somehow feel that on some maps, especially very closed ones, medics are getting the short end of the stick. For example on Akbal, I like to use the Flak or Link, but if I get hit by a big rock at point blank, I lose them, and if it's in the later waves, I can't get a decent gun when I respawn to add my bit to the high levels who survive and possibly help defend the lowers who are our lifeline. WMs are also at risk from big rocks but they recall their weapons if they get big rocked with no ghost.

A 'backup' function which allowed 3 weapons to be backed up (the magic is randomly restored like a WMs loaded weapons though) sounds like the best idea to me.

My guess is that the idea is to make one and only one weapon your medic inf. It prevents a medic from having unlimited ammo for all weapons if they were to cycle their medic weapon between MP5, flak, link, mines, etc. I'm undecided on whether that would be a good or bad idea.

Ok, simple solution, once you converted one of the weapons to infinite, when you change inf. weapon, the previous one would be disabled from convertion instead of losing it... until you respawn again.
say you convert the Mine Layer first, then convert the link, then the Mine Layer would be disabled from convertion until you respawn.

EDIT:
Or would be disabled from convertion for a certain period of time, say 5 minutes.
You could only convert the Mine Layer to infinite again only after 5 min, or so.

EDIT EDIT:
Or maybe keep things as they are, but just use the backup artifact, and you would have to wait until the next wave to have the backed up weapons back in your arsenal.

I like your idea Seven and Nelson. I too find it frustrating always picking up a link for my medic weaopn. (Especially in maze-like maps like Ak-Bal and Drac's house) But for now, your best bet is to avoid playing maps like those and if you happen to, you could ask a player who knows the map like the back of their hand for them to get you a link, or ask a WM who has some quickfoot. I really do hope they make a Medic Recall. :ssmile:

Yeah, I hope they make it too.
Because the thing is that helpfull players are becoming more scarce by the day, and not everyone will stop to help other players.
Invasion is a team based game mode, but it seems that a lot of players care for their personal score more than anything.
I'm in it for the fun, I don't know about everybody else... but you are also meant to go out there and fight monsters, not hide.
Therefore, each class needs something to be self-reliant, rather than relying on other players to help them out.
