I have no idea what that is... educate me! Is it the first Raster? What is a quarter plunker and I will take a swing at it. Do you mean arcade game? If I had to guess what the first arcade game was, I would have to say it was lunar lander or maybe Asteroids but I'm sure Lunar Lander was before that but I'm not sure if it took quarters... Hmmm... Dig Dug was after... I think Asteroids. It was a space game I'm sure but... Damn, good question. It was like Asteroids but not sure if it was the same name. It might have went by another name.

I was close enough. It had game play like Asteroids but it was called "Computer Space." Computer Space came out in 1971 but wasn't very successful, followed by Pong in 1972! But Asteroids was the first really successful arcade game which was out in 1979.

My brohter just reminded me of another game we had loads of fun on, Zaxxon 1982!

You're right though, Pong was a smash hit that started a wave of fans whom found their way to the arcades.

Zaxxon was a great game in the day , forgot all about that.

Yes I was talking arcade game , I thought it was pong , but I stand corrected . I'll take your word for it .

On a side not the first pong arcade games were built into a wood barrel , had the pleasure of fixing one about 20 yrs ago .

Looking back over the years some of my favorites.

Astoroids .
The old Red Baron on the xyz monitor
Ms. PacMan
Joust
Exitebike
Dig Dug
Tempest
Tron
Pole Position

These were games you could drop a quarter and play for a good time

Then they caught on started putting on the dreaded timer

Moving up in the years

Mortal Combat / Street Fighter
After burner
NBa Jam

I'm drawing a blank here , so many games so many years .

For the PC
All UT's
Mech Warrior
Red Barron
IL-2 Sturmovik
Swat
Doom

The list goes on ...

You are so lucky, I would have loved that. When I saw the Tennis for Two oscilloscope thing my dad had, I was maybe 3 or 4 and seen it a few time since but was afraid to even approach it. I so wish I would have worked up the courage to play it now but I feel honored to have witness it played first hand. I don't know whatever happened to it. I know my father lost it by now. I'm sure he built it because I don't think they ever marketed them. My father was an Air Force Engineer so he could have pulled it off. It had the vacuum tubes and everything. it was neat. I would have listed it in my top five but since I never actually played it it doesn't count.

Tank was awesome!

I've got an old O-scope , think we could dig up the plans ?

On another off topic , I worked as a video game repair dude while making my way through school . It was a dream job , use to get lost for hours at the show rooms . Not to mention all the testing that was needed once you got them running again . :sgiggle:
