I was joking about the Cicada, one of the things I like about Dreamus and Spiffy is that they don't have flying machines. I say Nay on Mantas in Dreamus, now that we don't need them to get the Deemer. All the Mantas do is fly around smashing people, it gets old to get spawn raped 5 times in a row by a Manta flying around the node.

I actually love ttat idea! Why not changing those 2 mantas on the side notes to scorpions and the one on the middle node to a "tide changing" hellbender?

This and the reduced mines will change Dreamus from a spawn killing fest to a real starship troopers warfare!! :blackeye: :bounce:

The Mantas would be useful in taking down the tanks. Otherwise they become MUCH more powerful, especially if you get a good tanker with lots of linkers.

The extra AVRiLs and scorpion should help keep the mantas down.

Yes, I did have to backspace and retype several comments and observations before I hit post on that one but I think the final result comes across as fairly restrained. Besides, if this one is going to be redone to bring it up somewhere close to -32p standards I'll be more than happy to chip in with ideas on fixing the problems.

The only problem with this link setup is that it will also lengthen most games on the map as you're essentially giving the team losing the game a forward base with a locked node right in the path the attacking team has to go to open up the next link in the chain. Also the middle will be even more chaotic than ever as even when the center gets locked, it will both be easier to re-open by building the far nodes 1/5 and you'll get spawn rapers for both sides much easier as people can respawn at the locked node and just take a quick walk up the hill and spam away.

It is a good setup (well as good as it will get here) and I did consider it - I'm just not sure if the end result is something we want to see. That end result is likely to be many more OT games than you see presently. If that is the goal, than go for it. Certainly it should be built into the map as an optional alternate link setup.

Listen to Toxic on this one. The extra scorpion at the core and AVRILs will control the Manta running and bring it down to what you'll see on most small maps. The original version of this map seemed designed for runners but our changes should help reduce the issue. There is no need to remove Mantas altogether.

-- Other New changes to Dreamus --

Sniper Rifle Removed from node 6 and Changed for Lignin gun at Bases
Added 2 minishield pickups at node 6 - 1 for each side thus balanced
Some lightnin isues improved
Erased terrain wich players never see
U-damage pickup at Bases instead of the existing Shield pickups
FogStart point changed just a little bit from 0.0000 to 400.0 not much diff but noticeable.

-- Thanks to Urtho and Wraith for their valuable Opinions and POV's on this map --

If nothing else  .. I believe we are ready to test this one out .

Alpha, how will the extra pickups and fog change affect the load on the server? Dreamus comes close to chocking the server as is.

We're adding rocket spam at the core, an additional vehicle, Avrils at the primaries, and a bigger fight in the middle (ION painter). I'm a little concerned.

I've read alot of the changes that were/should be made, and kinda confused on some, LOL I'm not exactly up to par on the terminology, but from what I've gathered so far, there won't be any Sniper Rifles at all on the map? That the ones at the cores will be replaced by lighting guns? If so I am really big, and others, love snipeing from cliffs and no one can see exactly were your at opposed to seeing a lighting round which clearly gives you away

- Well in fact.. There's still less pickups than the way dreamus actually is.. -If we take in count..

The whole map had :::

2- ammo pickups for sniper rifles gone
2- minalyer pickups gone
4- minelayer ammo pickups gone

The 2 U-damage pickups just took the place of the 2 shield pickups
And the only Net addition was actually 1 shield pickup on that matter we can compare now. But! if you still think is too much we can make just 1 shield on node 6 right in the midle -

The fog isue is just a really tiny modification dont let the 400.0 scare , to really see a change it would have to be set to like 2000.0 Besides I added some sheet anti-portals of wich I talked to Wraith about and That gets you more ocludding than 0.0 fog does .. Any how its up for changes... Lightnin gun or sniper rifle on a map with fog at a start point right on your face ( 0.000) i keep thinking is just silly .. Urtho sugested lot of this changes .. wich i think good ..

Ok so what everybody thinks ?? ... ----------- ? --------------
