yeah the teams thing really sucks. setting playerstarts to a team does exactly nothing in invasion.

Proof of Concept map. It's pretty simple and the Dome of Dum crowd will probably LURVE it cuz the whole thing is probably 1k polygons. I made it complete enuf for the live server, but i'd rather test it first to see if anything gets blowed up.
anyway, there's about 2 dozen movers that slide in and out during various waves. not a whole lot of attention was paid to real gameplay variation, i just wanted to make sure that players didn't get crushed too much.
any mapper that wants to look at it, there's nothing in that does anything other than move movers and display message. there's a ScriptTrigger for each wave and in the topview, they're lined up across the top of the screen. the lower ones move movers. the upper ones display "nothing to report" at wave start.
i didn't toggle playerstarts or pathnodes in this map just to keep it kinda simple for now, but rest assured ima try it... altho i don't think there's a way to work around team playerstarts not working )=

Hey Monsto,
To continue our conversation from the other night...
Reference this thread for a rotational mover...

All you do is place a smesh as a mover. Then change the above settings. That's really all you need to make it work. I've used these settings many, many times before.

So i was thinkin about linking this thing on the DC forums. The mute and the concept map to p'haps get a little wider acceptance.
Any comments on this? tbph i think it's ready in the current form.

Hey monsto,
Sry I haven't had a chance to chat on vent with you about the team thing.
If you (as one of the ultimate consumers of it) are happy with it, then I guess it's ready. Have you and Wraith tried it on the beta server yet? I've been so out of it lately due to being up to my ass in alligators at work that I wouldn't know.
PM me with a time & date to chat on vent & I'll make time for it.
Snaggle.

We tried it out last night on the test server snaggle. It was pretty cool.. Good job on the mutator.
And monsto, good job on the demo map.
The funny thing we concluded last night was that the demo map was probably better than half of the maps that get voted up. So, I think that wraith was going to try and get it up sometime today. That way, everyone can partake in your guys' hard work.

You know what. . . i fig'd i would put it up over there and see what people say about the 'problems' cuz I'll bet the crew over there would have someone either on dev or in the community that might just be interested in fixing.
the individual based triggers (that would allow the Actions on the scripted trigger) is probably not doable without a bunch of rigamarole. other than that, and the team-spawn thing, it's totally ready for prime time.
and unless you had some questions for me, i don't think we need a 1v1 shitchat anymore.
[edit] i'm going to bottle the mute and my map together as one rar and put it up for download on monsto.com. it would probably be better to put here and mark it as "official DW" or whatever.

Anyone noticed that UI is running a server-side mutator called MutWaveNotifier (no "Inv" in the name)?
I wonder if it's the same thing?

Ahh you see Wraith, Cheap, this is why your buddy joined the server that night. I knew it.
That's it, I'm opening a 32p invasion server with a store that rat b******.
Someone go join the UI server and extract it and see if it's Snaggle's work.
