If it's any indication, I just saw something that said they solved a lot of their design issues
by turning to that most excellent of technical repositories.....

From the BestBuy article Karma posted:
"we would like you to play the game the way we designed and balanced it"
Yeah, ok, now I can judge it before it comes out. I guess I didn't get the scope of how bad this is looking until I just read the latest article link. This is really disappointing, they had such a great foundation to build upon with CoD4, what made them bulldoze it and start a completely new design? Very disappointing.
Well, looks like another situation that is exactly like what we had with UT3. The question is, will you all cave in at some point like so many did with UT3 and try to work with it, or simply find another game? How ironic that CoD4 was the "other game" for me when UT3 was out.
My suggestions: the new Red Orchestra that is eventually coming out, or Crysis Wars if you have the processing power =P

Yeah, it isn't looking too good for PC anymore. We'll just have to wait and see what happens and personally I don't see nothing really wrong with UT3, never did. I mean, at least you can have a dedicated server and mod and change it as needed and make it personal. I mean, talk about going console and COD does this, wow! I personally think COD just screwed itself harder than UT3 ever did. Interface problems and a few less mods and characters isn't a big deal so much now that I think about what COD just did. Their is Bioshock on the way too, don't forget. it was suppose to be out already but it was pushed back to Feb. I'm not sure what other games are coming out soon but I'm sure their must be something good just in time for the holidays... I could use another game though. What is this Crysis thing you mentioned? Is it good?

I don't hate UT3, I just was never excited about it the way I was with UT2003 and UT2004. I originally bought it, sold it soon after, and then got it a few months ago for free from a friend. I do totally agree with you Savage that UT3 did not screw anyone as hard as it sounds like MW2 will. I personally just hate the vehicles in UT3 except for the manta.
The Crysis I mentioned is called Crysis Wars. It is the multiplayer game (second disc) that comes with Crysis Warhead. They took the original Crysis multiplayer and added team DM, and also actually listened to the community and got rid of a lot of annoying errors. Kind of like Windows 7 is Vista done right, Crysis Wars is Crysis multiplayer done right.
In addition to the multiplayer, the original crysis game and Warhead are friggin' awesome in single player. In Warhead you take the role of another soldier from the original Crysis and find out what he was doing while you were controlling the main character of the original game. If you were interested you would want to check out the Maximum edition which is the bundle of all three games in one:

You need a fast machine for sure. I have an e6750 core 2 duo, 4GB ocz platinum ram, and an 8800GT superclocked card and I run it pretty well. If you have something comparable or better you should be fine.
I look forward to BioShock. ifondlesweaters got me interested in the concept and I finally got the first one but have not played it yet. I need to find the time!

The second Bioshock has multiplayer so i'm stoked about that. the original Bioshock doesn't have multiplayer but the story is just awesome and the graphics and mood and even the sound is superb, it really is a great game. I'll definately check out Crysis and most likely purchase it soon if it even looks remotely good, I need a new game. Thanks man!

I think it's very appropriate that a thread intended to discuss MW2 has turned into a "What other cool games do you play?" thread!
Damn, set some time aside immediately to play Bioshock. It's freaky, funny, haunting, intelligent, and incredibly creative. The "Telekenesis" plasmid/ability is worth the price of admission alone, even if it is overpowered. The ability to combine your firearms with your genetic powers is amazing. And the first time you fight and defeat a Big Daddy rivals the excitement of being the cricket in Freon with five guys left and smoking them all. Some people complained that it was too cartoonish, but to them I ask, "What the hell do you expect from a game about an underwater civilization that goes haywire thanks to greed and genetic manipulation?" Plus, I think the themes and allusions from The Fountainhead and 1984 and other dystopian stories helps diminish the cartoonish feel. Hopefully they don't doink up the sequel, but based on the paths of my favorite games at this point (UT/COD), I'm a little anxious. Might pick up Fallout3 for Christmas...

To bring it back on topic, I just read this article:
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009 ... hought.ars
In it they pointed out the maximum player count for an IWnet server is 9v9 (18 total) The medal of honor game on my Wii runs 32 player servers, why can't this run that? WTF is with only 9v9?!?!? I guess I didn't catch that before.

Agreed, Bioshock is excellent!
In the sequel, we become the big daddy which I think will be awesome. Although, technically... Never mind, I don't want to give anything away for those whom haven't played the first one. But really guys, if you haven't played Bioshock, go get it because it is really kick ass.
"Come on Mr. Bubbles, the angels won't wait forever..." Awesome!

Well, it seems
IW doesn't give a damn about the 185,000-strong petition, although I was a bit surprised to hear about the "negatives that seem to be surfacing" from IWNet... anyone know what they're on about there?
I wonder...
Bioshock 2's singleplayer looks great again, fingers crossed on the multiplayer... If that doesn't work out there's Left 4 Dead 2 and Borderlands too.

Hello again!
So did anyone get it? I have no time for games anymore but MW2's new (crappier) multiplayer seems geared towards casual players.
