If I had to only pick one game as my all time favorite it would be with no doubt, UT99. It was the first, that I know of, game that implemented Object Oriented Design making it super modifiable and interactive on a whole new level. To be a part of the development community is so much fun and to have others appreciate your work is undescribable. The second would be the very first 3D Vector Based game I ever played because it took games in the direction they are today even though it was a pain in the ass to play and wasn't so much fun, what it contributed to the gaming industry literally leaves me speechless, That game being Dungeons Of Daggorath. Third choice would consist of the fun factor in games which are many and I could never narrow it down to just one but if I could choose a platform, it would be the Commodore 64. Pong most definitely took gaming to the masses and without it it is possible we wouldn't have had games to a much later date if ever but I never played it so I can't put it on my list. But as you and everyone else says, I don't think it is possible to pick a top whatever but I can pick the number one game! ... Unreal Tournament!

On another off topic , I worked as a video game repair dude while making my way through school . It was a dream job , use to get lost for hours at the show rooms . Not to mention all the testing that was needed once you got them running again . :sgiggle:
I will certainly try, I would love to build a Tennis For Two! That would be great! We could use all the same gear, vaccum tubes and all... O' man that would be fun! I will see what I can dig up.

All this talk about the classics drove me to buy an Atari 2600 and if anyone knows where I can find a Commodore C64 plug and play joystick, I would love you forever. I'm in the market to buy A real Commodore 64 also but would prefer just the plug and play since I already have a Commodore emulator on my PC.

The Atari replica I am buying for kicks...
Image Here is the plug and play Commodore C64 joystick I am looking for but just can't seem to find it anywhere. I'm not sure if they discontinued it or what and I have no idea how to navigate Ebay...

Yes I was talking arcade game , I thought it was pong , but I stand corrected . I'll take your word for it .

On a side not the first pong arcade games were built into a wood barrel , had the pleasure of fixing one about 20 yrs ago .
You don't remember Computer Space? I'm sure you would if you seen it. It was like Asteroids but your ship didn't just sit in the center of screen, you could fly out one side of the screen and enter instantly on the opposite side. Here is a video but you must look closely to see it. It is a bad video. Here it is, Computer Space (1971):

Battlezone was also great but I wasn't aware that it was the first truly 3D vector based game until just a second ago and I have played it. Did you know that the army was so pleased with this game that they asked the maker to produce an amped up version for a tank simulator for training. Wow, so I guess I can remove that crappy Dungeons Of Daggorath off my list and replace it with Battlezone, Battlezone was actually fun! Battlezone (1980):

Lunar Lander (1979), was the first vector based game originally made in 1973, then it was known as Moon Lander but it was the same game:

Hey Bomzin, I was wondering if their was a way I could offer some of my classic games available for download here? I have played many emulators and roms for years and actually had a pretty impressive collection until I lost most of them when buying my new computer but I have still managed to find all the good ones. I got all the best emulators again already and I am working on getting my collection of old games again. It would be a nice learning experience for some of the young bucks to see how games evolved over the years and I even got some old classic game programs in Python that you can open up and take a look at what is going on and how games evolved in the coding aspect. I have The best SNES emulator and the best Commodore 64 emulator, I also have a windows port of Dungeons Of Daggorath. I got C64 Spy Hunter again finally and also managed to get C64 Battlezone and C64 Ghost And Goblins. For the SNES I got Super Mario and Zelda: Link to the Past. I got Kawak Arcade Emulator that plays all the old arcade games for NeoGeo and Mame. I have the best Atari emulator, Stella which is the best available but not great. It plays the games though. I got a few Atari games and I also have and authentic vector based Asteroids written in python, the only thing is it is Object Oriented but all vector sprites, no corny images, so you can see how simple 2D vectors work. Just a thought but if it ain't possible, I still have them if anyone wants them. I know how hard it can be to find them on the net with all the ads and pop-ups and Email newsletter crap. I am a big fan of the classics so it is well worth the trouble for me to go find them and put up with all the crap of getting them. I am still in the market for a Commodore 64 if anyone comes across one. Thanks, and I'll talk to you guys tomorrow! Time Warner sucks!
