I like the new setup, miss some xp in some waves and the scores have decreased a lot with some of the new monsters being very hard to kill (dinosaur species)or having instagib or overdamage weapons (spinesaurs). But to be honest i don't care, it's a much bigger challenge now, which was needed since it started to be boring fighting the same monsters for months.:)
Great job, a few tweaks and fixes and it will be a great new game:)
P.s, i absolutely LOVE the return of fury titans and diffrent wailords. :geek:

yes it is much betr. love the dinos shooting things at you now and they actually r dangerous now. maybe too dangerous? the spinos IG rocks r proving to be annoying. for those w/o a globe, you go out and die in a few seconds. seems not only IG but they are auto homing, super fast, or whatever, cause they always seem to tag you. i just havn't figured out yet their pattern and how to avoid, and it's tru i havn't played a lot yet to find out, so maybe this is ok and a new and fun challenge.
early waves, 1 up to something like 8(uummm, not sure about that number, but do remember wave 9 was pretty good), are still boring as heck i would rather watch paint dry and i feel like i just gotta suffer and pain it out till it gets to about wave 9 and gets fun. before the dinos, with wave 4 it got hot and fun and you had waves 1-3 to relax and roll/gather stuff with ease, but now that period is like doubled or more and i feel it's something to endure, not play. i hope you will beef em up after wave 3.
one great thing about the dinos is that now you got more critters that a Hunter weapon works on. i like that very much.
thanks for the tweaks looking forward to more, i hope the feedback helps with the tweaking.
thanks and have a great day

First the Spinosaurus was one of the weakest, and now its become the deadliest opponent in Monster Mash. With the titan its easy to tell and avoid its attacks.
If any thing the Spinosaurus should have its own unique attack. Something a long the lines of flaming meteorite. Give the attack a decent amount of speed to give the player time to react properly. Now if you really want to get creative. Have the meteor explode into smaller fragments upon impact.
One more thing I forgot to being up. I've notice the protection weapon does nothing against the spinos rock attacks.

The only way to avoid them is to walk in a zigzag pattern towards or moving away from them the same way. you can also avoid them on 1 spot simply by running left and right very fast, it seems to confuse them and they won't throw rocks at all, they just try to stare at you, which is in fact scary enough since you know what they can suddenly throw at you.warhead2 wrote:seems not only IG but they are auto homing, super fast, or whatever, cause they always seem to tag you. i just havn't figured out yet their pattern and how to avoid, and it's tru i havn't played a lot yet to find out, so maybe this is ok and a new and fun challenge.
the tactic is also applyable when there are multiple spinosaurus targetting you, but only when they all target you from the same side. When there are a few behind you, or on every other direction, you die by trying to avoid the group in front of you, simply because the targets left, right or behind you don't respond to the zigzag pattern and just throw like there is no tomorrow.
so the best defence is: Back against the wall, going left, right, left, right while shooting the crap out of them.
Though this is a very effective tactic, it still doesn't always work properly, and has cause me to hate these creatures more and more. good solutions for this are: Less accurate aim, other projectiles (fireballs, plasma shots or simply the spines on the back themselves) which are more visible then rocks. Or just give them less HP/defence power.

Thanks for the feedback on the new setup- Spino is obviously an issue and I am actually working on him right now. Tiger is right he definitely went from one of the weaker opponents to one of the most deadly. Hopefully the next updates we'll have narrowed it down so he's more along the threat range we're looking for - deadly but not randomly shooting instant death projectiles.
Some of the earlier waves could be a bit more interesting, although old Wave 4 with the Goros was really harsh for lower levels (IMO). I definitely tried to make the earlier waves more encouraging to have lower level players go out and run around, but definitely open to moving some stuff down into lower waves. A lot of this has to do with other monsters I want to add in there being currently unfinished and on the backburner since just getting a feel for the waves & tweaking the Dinos has been eating up all my time.
Thanks Wail. one thing I notice now that i've played a little more is that Wave 7 is pretty cool now. People always griped about that wave in old setup, how boring it was. That was the wave with all the little stuff like soul suckers and etc. Now this wave is pretty fun. Me likie.
Timeshifter thanks a bunch for the spino tactic it works and now i actually got a chance out there w/o a globe, which is my preferred way of doing things.

Spinosaurus have their new attacks now, though I'm concerned they may be on the weaker side again, at least as compared to Titans whose rocks are quite deadly on a direct hit. May want to make the direct hit more deadly and leave the splash damage as-is. But catching one of these with your face should probably not be recommended at any level. Either that or up the speed some, because they are pretty slow.
