Don't know how people would feel about this suggestion, and maybe it's been discussed in the past, but what about getting rid of the players scores in the score board and showing only the team score?

After all, Invasion is a team effort, for the most part. Sometimes, when you look at the score board, you start to feel a little more competitive than you should.

I really don't know, it's just a thought a couple of people on vent and myself came up with. Just thought I'd try and bounce it off a few more heads before it was forgotten or considered.

Thanks for reading.

Nice idea, can it work?

I was one of the ones in the disscussion with Painless and I thought it would be a good idea. I mean if it is possible we could then track map scores in the forum. with sopmeone posting what a group scored with a screen shot and then then groups on the server would try to shoot for those big numbers and you would have a little more cooperation was my thought, to add to the disscussion.

After talking with Nightwolf, it has come to my attention that there are reasons why individual scores may need to stay and be visible to everyone.

If someone comes in and in 5 minutes gets a ridiculous score, well above everyone else's, you'll know that something's not right. Be it botting, cheating, or whatever, it will be important to see how well these cheaters are doing in relation to everyone else so they can be dealt with more quickly.

Also, if someone has been in the game the whole time, and has a score of -50 or such, it may mean they're idling just for the Luci kill, or such. Having a score for individuals will make this kind of behavior more evident, and, like the cheaters, make it easier to take action.

I'm sure there are lots of other reasons that a score for individuals is important, but I'll leave it up to the community to think about it.

Thanks again for reading and commenting.

As discussed earlier.

The cheating issue is non-existent. We only had one player even really be accused of it AFAIK.

The Idle issue may hold water, However we have it setup to remove players that aren't active. If it's not doing it's job properly then that needs to be addressed.

You could use the stats that are already available in game for monitoring both.

I support the idea in general, However I wouldn't label it as a priority.

Hey, I mentioned this on vent and acy suggested i post it here. Regarding the new monsters I totally like them and have no qualms (sp?) about the damage they do but for people trying to get into the server its a bit demoralising that by wave 6 they can be pretty much instagibbed for a good few levels yet. My suggestion was to let certain monsters poison, freeze, null etc - add a bit more strategy to the waves but without ensuring a certain instagib, just a possible one.

A wave I had in mind earlier was the wave with raptors and goo titans, if the titans were to slow players down in a manner freezing does, the raptors could get closer, upping the difficulty for the high level players. It's up in the air i guess, to what monsters would be suitable doing what but i figured could make things a little more scary - imagine trying to unfreeze while being chased by monsters! eek! :bounce:
