As promised to Nutcracker, here are screenshots from some of my UT99 maps:

CTF-Dagnys-PussyWhIpPeD It's been played in PUG matches and I want to make a UT3 version. It also uses the same custom texture pack as the Monster Mash Binary Space map.
Image Image Image CTF-DagnysBigAssMap-V2. This one was part of the rotation on one of the world's most populated CTF servers (2005-2006).

Yeah, UT99 Flak is so sexy. Unreal Tournament Revolution has an awesome model remake for 2k4, but I haven't been able to get in contact with those guys.

For those of you who don't know, I used to play as [Ri]DagnyTaggart, borrowing the name of the heroine from a famous novel, hence the Dagny maps. The [Ri] was the clan tag for Raging Insansity, a UT99 CTF and DOMination clan that played on the Proving Grounds ladders. (We even received the Clan of the Month honor right before the site went under.)

In addition to a remake of Pussywhipped, which I think would make for a great public server and league map, I'm also hoping to remake Tubes Of Spam for UT3. The pro players will reject it because it's a tight and spammy map. In fact, a reviewer at Nali City panned it and described it as "the place is more narrow than a 2 year old vagina".

It was intended to be one of those fun, high-body count jerk-off maps that everyone says they hate but secretly enjoy. However, I released it too late in the history of UT99 for it to find its audience and take off. It was modeled after a then very popular map called CTF-CarPark using tubes of the exact same size, only Tubes-of-Spam has a much higher build quality and it's completely symmetrical. The idea for the name came from a player's comment about the Red Flag room in the original CTF-November. He called it a "tube of spam".

I doubt that I'll remake Dark Delight, at least not with that same texture scheme. I do, however, want to make a UT3 version of DagnysBigAssMap-V2, only a little smaller in scale. The BigAssMap-V2 actually played pretty well in 5-on-5 PUG matches often resulting in overtime games with scores of 4-3.

You can find all of my maps available for download at Unreal PLayground (need to be registered for the discussion forums) and Nali City, here:

UT Lore: Back in the day, Unreal Playground had one of the if not the premier servers for custom UT99 CTF maps. It was packed full with 20 players 24/7 and many excellent new maps debuted there. It's also a custom mappers community. Sadly, it's gone downhill since it no longer has a premier server and didn't take off for UT 2004 for some reason. Still, I definitely recommend visiting and taking a look around. It also had a very active discussion forum.

CTF-Dagnys-PussyWhIpPeD is by far my favorite. Once I get the boots I can PBJ all the way home. The high ceilings are perfect for it too. Anyone who knows how to use the piston...this map is a dream.

:-) Thanks for the kind words, Mac.

A PBJ is a Piston Boot Jump. When you have the jump boots, you do an impact hammer jump and then press jump at about the same time and you fly across the map depending on the angle at which you planted the piston. (Just about everyone uses a single keybind for it.) It's a skill that separates the great flag runners from the decent ones. Maybe you guys will get to do it in UT3.
