Do you think you'll play CTF heavily in UT3?
In UT 2004, today, few people still play CTF. However, in UT99, CTF was (and still is) THE game. At least it was THE team game. Having played a little UT 2004 CTF and Bombing Run I think I can understand why it hasn't done as well as Onslaught and is only a shadow of its former UT99 self in terms of popularity.
Based on what I've read of UT3, the "bigness" feel and many of the factors that turned the game into a shock primary and lightening gun hitscan game (translation--if you don't have great hitscan ability it won't be much fun to play) will be gone. The firing time between shock primaries is increasing, the secondary shock ball will move a little faster making the shock combo, which is about prediction and not hitscan, more effective, and the double dodge jump that makes flak and rockets less effective will be gone. Also, the shield gun will be gone, to be replaced by the good 'ol impact hammer.
Furthermore, it sounds like the armor system is returning to UT99-style, bringing back the armor vest (100 pts armor) and thigh pads (50 pts armor) along with the addition of a new anti-headshot helmet (50 pts general armor). However, I don't know if the shield belt will return. (Not only does it keep your pants up, but it also provides a shield against hits until it's sucked up 150 pts of damage.) I think the jump boots are also making a return, so you guys can learn to PBJ -- that's piston-boot-jump.
In other words, it almost sounds as though Epic is reverting UT3 back to a UT99 feel, at least for CTF.
Given all of that, do you think you'll play CTF heavily?
If you rejected UT 2004 CTF, do you think you'd like UT3 CTF based on what you know about it so far?
