Hacks, aimbots (assists), camping, speed hax...

My 2 cents.....

Marketing 101. Some people will only play games if they have awesome cheats. Since, developers make games for money, it's in their best interests to include these hacks or easy access to create them. I am known to say a comment or two when I run into these rejects from the battered women's shelter. However, they are still as much a part of the game as the redeemer. I usually use team chat to tell my mates of the botter..AS A TACTIC...! That way they know to avoid their energy turret or whatever. I'll usually say something to the <insert hacker here> , so they have to explain to me they are not. Good! A cheater and a liar! Moral pillars I'd say. I have played on 100s of server's and very little is ever done to these rascals. (No offense Toxic.) Usually the admin likes a demo, then you have to confront the individual, three strike rules, then log the I.P....yada..yada...yada...9 out of 10 times nothing is ever done or the process is so slow the person gets bored and moves on. I don't mind aim assist programs..but the speed hacking...sheesh...

As for camping...there is no such thing. That's like saying in combat, "You can't invade here. This is where we resupply. It is off limits. You have to go kill over there."
F'N stupid! Give your enemy a fighting chance?!? Thought it was Onslaught not Connect Four. However, there is that segment of society that needs someone else to help them out, I limit myself on this tactic. I will attack any connecting node to an open node. That’s the next one in order. Locked or unlocked. The proceding node will soon be up or down. Also, if you shoot me out of the air and I am a million miles from anywhere sometimes I will sit on an enemy's locked node for vehicle destruction purposes. All of this is secondary to where my team's node progression is. Spawn camping when your losing is just dumb...unless it keeps away that tank away long enough to build your first node, then its genius. (See all One Node Maps.)

I think Toxic and DW does a fairly good job limiting these hackers. I have learned to play very well facing, cyks, nbk.Arienhode, TylerDurden, vote4pedro, and the new and improved vote4pedro{STFU}, along with others, some Clan tags .....think of yourself like Luke Skywalker defending himself from that sparring droid and Obe Won make’s him face the combat bot with his helmet’s blast shield down….. Let it flow through you...you will have a lot more fun.

I got pissed off yesterday because I opened the box the trash bags came in. There was one left. I took the bag out and lined the canister with it. What to do with the now empty box? Put it in the bag? Seems wrong on some level. All trash bags should be packaged in one of their own bags. Either that or I think too much.

I don't know if you noticed or not, but about two weeks ago, I ran anti-tcc for a couple of days. As for those you mentioned, I hosted both Pedro, and cyks during those few days. Both came up clean. Did they notice the tcc download and bail before I could detect them, only to return with hacks removed? Possibly, sure. Are they running newer hacks that I couldn't pick up? Possible, sure.

But did you ever notice Cyks' ping? He pings 36! to the server. This guy must live in the basement of the building where the server is hosted! Do you have any idea what an advantage that gives a person? Why do you think he's so sensetive about the server slowing down a little when 32 players get on, increasing pings? Because then he's on an even playing field with everyone else, and he can't use his massive ping advantage, that's why.

Typically cheaters do not bother to learn to move like cyks, et al. Cyks moves like a professional player, and not to offend anyone, but if a professional DM'er ever logged on to SV, he would own cyks, myself, everyone in DW, you, your parents, siblings, and even your tropical fish. And you know what? Everyone would scream HACKER!!! at the tops of their lungs.

Yeah, I require a demo, but if I see someone cheating, I'm happy to ban them, no if, ands, butts, arms, or second chances. They're gone. But how can I ban someone who hasn't been proven a cheater? Ohms, what if two people who didn't like you got together and came to me and said, Toxic, we saw Ohms botting, you have to ban him, and I said, sure, two of you are saying it, it must be true. Insta-ban! You never play here again, because you are cheating scum and how can I trust you when you tell me they are lying, and you don't cheat.

Send me your demos people. I take cheating VERY seriously, but I do not take blind accusations seriously in the least.

I will not run it full time, but I will be running it off and on in silent mode. I'll review the logs, and ban those who I find are cheating.

That's reasonable to me. Most of us are good enough now that if they're just running aim assist or speed, we can pwn them anyway. If I can, then the whole slew of guys better than me can too - I'm hardly the best player here (just check the scores and you'll see).

Ohms...I play on DW fairly often and have yet to find someone cheating and I have caught a few cheaters in my day (2 in SCK, on on ssgameservers IL). It was a little insulting being accusing of botting by you last night since I have seen you around in 32p servers for quite some time now. If you really think someone is cheating: spectate, console, demorec, or don't say anything at all because you just make yourself look stupid.

If you say so. The point I was trying to make (and you obviously missed) was that cheaters are part of the game. Just like nodes and getting stuck in trees on DryIce. This is what I find funny. After I gunned you down, I sent a tell all "bot that!" I didn't say your name and I didn't complain to a soul. I was speaking directly to you and noone else would have known that. You must have known I was talking to you....either from having just killed you ...or guilt and an immediate need to be defensive about it. Either way, it doesn't matter. Thats why I ignored you when you questioned me about it in game. Do I think you bot? Yes. I played you on another level a month or so ago and I'm sure I saw you botting then. Could I be wrong? Possibly. I don't think so. You are usually alot of fun to play with so I dont care if you are. Just like cyks. When he's not being an ass, he's fun to play with. So if I hurt your feelings. I apologize. If you do bot. Cram that apology up your blow hole. Besides...do you really care what I think? Is it just some internet rep. kind of thingy? You don't want people to think (or know) you bot? They can decide for themselves when they play you. I'm not a noob, ask around. Yea, I find myself being consistantly pwnd by Arien and Cyks. Even if they are botting I have fun hearing myself say, "Ooh I'm gonna get that Mofo!!!" After being smoked for the fifth time in a row. It's a challenge. Then when I do manage to kill'em, I'm like, "Ha, Bitches! What now?!?!?" It's part of the experiance hehe. Speaking of suspected botters, does Drunkenseagul ever post on here? He kills me a lot...

The only gametype that has had problems with botters is TAM. There was a guy going around botting under 50+ aliases in many servers, including ONS servers, but probably not DW.

At the end of the day I don't really care if you think i'm botting (even though the idea is plain ridiculous). So you ask why I am even bothering to post this? I like ONS and it's unfortunate that people have to pull out the "he must be botting" excuse rather than wanting to get better at the game and possibly take it to the next level.

There is only one person in the entire universe who I know for sure doesn't hack, and that's me. Anyone else* has to submit a demo. :compress:

*Except for Defiant, Jett and Storm whose parents already sent in the special form certifying that their child is not a bot.
