Reality Check

Monster Mash is too easy. People are saying, "It's a lot harder," but I disagree. How many times have you actually lost in the past hundred maps? The answer for a normal difficulty server should be about fifty.
Invasion is just like any other gametype. You aren't supposed to win every time (or close to every time.) If one team won every single time in Spam Vikings, it would be, to say the least, very dumb.
My proposed solution, take away most of the hiding places. People being able to outlast the waves is what makes us win every time. Take out the hiding places, and tone down the monsters until we die roughly 1 out of 2 games. The answer to the difficulty is not harder monsters, it's harder maps.

It IS a lot harder. I believe that is what the last batch of monsters were intended for. We LIKE it harder.
Also, when was the last time you actually played MM for a significant amount of time? I've seen you on the server 1 time in the past month, and it was also only for half a map.
If you are referring to my medic guide thread, again, I don't think it's too hard, I think the medic class isn't up to what MY opinion says it should be in correlation to the other classes. (Note that I said MY opinion) I can still get the top score with my lvl 203 medic. But I can and have numerously run circles around it with a lvl 90+ adrenaline master, which is what bothers me.
If you're referring to the threads I've seen on specific monsters, those weren't that the server is too hard, it was that monster's were not performing as intended, becoming invulnerable and whatnot, and are in fact, constantly under modification.
What exactly is your point?

you know for once i think i can agree with desko. you can upgrade the monsters to super-human-mega-infernal-heat-seeking-chainsaw-wall-hacking mega beasts, but there will always be 10 people in a hole hiding behind their own wet pants. i say chuck out the hidey holes and make us a big sqaure empty map with death lasers and anti adrenaline pills.
not really but seriously monsters can only go so far into impossibleizing the difficluty.

Yes, I understand you like the server to be hard. What I am saying is that the server is NOT hard. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Taz got it right. No matter how hard the monsters are, it won't make the server harder if you can still survive no matter what. The solution is to take out the hiding places, and make the monsters easier.
The purpose of taking out the hiding places is to provide a challenge. To make it HARD TO WIN. If someone can just hide and wait until the monsters live out their short lifespan, then one person could, in theory, get through waves 1-15 on his own. If you remove the hiding places, this is no longer a possibility.
The purpose of making the monsters easier is to balance out the difficulty once the hiding places are removed. Indubitably, if we simply removed the hiding places and kept the current monster set, we would have little to no chance of winning.
I'm not referring to any other threads here. I'm referring to my observations and analysis of the server. Perhaps I have only played two or three maps recently, perhaps I've played way more than you think. Either way, it's still enough information to know that we win way to often. Which just isn't fun.
I hope that made my point of view clear. Now let me make something else clear. I'm not sure what your quarrel is with me, but I will not tolerate that sort of open aggression. If you have some problem with me, you can send me a PM.

I have no Idea what you are talking about. However, I do think that "Reality Check" comes off as rather arrogant. Well, most things you say come off as rather arrogant. I hate arrogance. That's probably my issue.
What I find amusing about this is that I've already proven my point. I've responded to your topic in the same manner you respond in other topics, and you didn't like it. Sarcasm and a "holier than thou" attitude don't work with me, and I seem to get it often from you.
I've "tolerated" your attitude this much, I believe that you can handle it.

What we need is some way to determine how waves were finished simply by people "waiting it out," and some kind of solution. Perhaps Luci shouldn't spawn, and you shouldn't gain the award experience if you "lose" 3 waves in a game.
Better maps is also a solution, but one that is struggled with because people won't vote maps that don't have hidey holes, and making new maps takes time.

honestly Desko, the only one being "openly agressive" in this post is you. everyone here (including you, i'm sure) is just trying to post their opinion and it's being turned into some rediculous arguement. granted, 'deemer has jumped to conclusions too quickly in other posts and gotten angry, but this time he wasn't.
and no, i'm not just saying that because i'm his girlfriend, so no one even bother going there. neither one of us are perfect, but we're completely willing to let each other know when we're being 'tards...and we're very good at it :).
overall, if you don't want people to respond to your posts and try to have a discussion, don't write anything. if you think the game is too easy, don't play. simple as that. otherwise, i think everyone needs to calm down. this is just the internet. make love, not war...unless we're killing monsters. :love4:

As far as i know, It alway those same group of players who will actually play tough map. Those newer batch will actually prefer a place to hide. Though i am junior, but quite a few hours had been invested on mm server.
And most adrenaline master class would prefer a place to hide to roll weapon. And to trans back to regen adrenaline.
Every map, you will have players asking - where is the hiding place.
At the end of the day, server will have to consider the population.

I also wanted to add:
I personally would like it if someone took a look through the Damage Reduction code and tried to figure out what's going on there, because the way Damage Reduction seems to work is for points 0-250+ you get very, very marginal benefits from your points spent. Then at some point (not sure exactly when) the effectiveness of Damage Reduction seems to skyrocket to the point that players don't take damage from most monsters.
This makes designing monsters a pain, because I know even monsters that deal modest amounts of damage can be quite challenging and deadly to low and medium level players, but high level players can shrug them off (unless everyone else dies).
I would even advocate for dropping the max damage reduction value if we could determine that there was something funky going on with the highest levels of damage reduction.

I would like to say that the internet sucks ass.
And yes Redeemer your post SOUNDED to some people rude and "openly aggressive" but this is because the internet does not allow inflections and therefor when someone reads something you post it could sound VERY rude even if you didn't mean it to be i think everyone needs to ,as stated before, calm down.
