Everyone has some kind of activity they like to do more than anything else, often a slightly more private hobby such as Hiking , Mountain biking or Photography . I know some of you like photography and i fully appreciate this because i love pretty scenery - But.......rather than capturing the scenery i like to tear small chunks of it to pieces with my knobblys on my Mountain bike, tearing down a huge hill in the woods dodging trees , roots on the ground, Rocks and Ditches gives a rush like no other - especially if youve failed before cos then you know how much its gonna hurt if you fail again, knowing that you could easily snap legs or arms or worse is what provides the rush i think.
In case your wondering, yes i hav broken bones mountain biking - more specifically both arms [seperately] my left hand little finger and i hav a long nice scar up my back from a bigass stick that went up my shirt after hitting a small but deep patch of sand which threw me straight in a bush .
As for bikes, i hav one and one only and ive had it 5 years and kept it in almost perfect condition, my bike is not cheap/weak and is not standard/stock either - its a CBR Supermoto with around £500 worth of high quality accesories and aftermarket parts such as my Easton EA50 Monkeybars with DMR strut , grips and plugs fitted, i also bought TIOGA overhead [front] mudguard, Crud catcher rear mudguard [because for some unknown reason TIOGA do not make the matching rear guard], DMR V8 grease-injected platform pedals, DMR Moto tyres [smooth jump tyres], TIOGA Shredder tyres [my knobbly beasties], Tektro rear disc caliper with Grimeca high grip rotor fitted to an Off center rim back wheel along with front disc brake setup to match, DMR seatpole and jump seat, several Lizard Skins , nice shiny dustcaps and much Graphics/stickers.

Now, i know at least two ppl out there who also like to go mountain biking [Damnidge and Rocket Queen] and if there are anymore id like to hear from you, tell me bout ur bikes and equipment ,the places you go and if youve busted yourselves up like me!
You can see some of my fav spots on Rocket Queens "some pics =)" thread in off topic, i will try get some more to post here.

So you can understand me a little better Here are some pics of my bike which i love so much.

You didn't strike me as the hardcore down-hiller you seem to be o.O
I haven't done any mountain biking since i've been in Spain but I'll be honest when I lived in the UK I had a BMX and a Mountain bike, I use to do a lot of both.. The area where I lived had some awesome tracks deep in the woods. The sensation you get from the fast pace of Mountain biking is fantastic.. there's also nothing better than the feeling that your flying when you hit the big dirt jumps on your BMX! ^^
I've been a hardcore skateboarder for a long time also.. I prefer the Vert style to the Street, Half pipes are where the fun is at! As far as injuries go, I've hurt myself many times but I guess I've been extremely lucky to never break anything.. I've had sprains, dislocations, cuts.. deep wounds to the point of seeing bone... I guess the chances of being hurt adds to the adrenaline rush you get from doing it :P

I have a Trek 4500 that is silver/black/red with front Rock Shox and hard tail. I don't like the full suspension bikes - I'm mainly a XC biker so the hard tail suits me better and I personally like the feel better. My friend has one though and he loves it. His is a Santa Cruz (friggin bank $$$$$) and does some sick stuff.

All my biking pics are prints in albums and i just don't have the time to scan them at this point, but maybe i can find some on the ol' hard drive.

I'm out in NorCal. I go to a place near me called Rockville Park, and also do some trails that go up and around Berkeley. The last time I was out was in September though - I need to get my butt out there - since my wife and I found out we are expecting it has been busy busy. I just sold out last extra piece of "study" furniture today - the old office is now the nursery =P
Cheers, Damnidge

Terra i think i just fell in love with you ROFL! lolol jk...before people take that seriously lol. but really wow very nice bike! i want it! lol. All i got just now is a stock GT Aggressor (bright yellow) had it for quite a few years and even tho its only a stock bike its my baby, we been threw alot together lolol. I just dont have the money to customise a bike to what i would love. i have lost count of how many injuries broken things cuts bruises scars and everything else that i have had from mountain biking, most recent of which me and my bike got hit by a Range Rover last year now that one really hurt! lol but im sure you would all agree its all just part of the fun n the thrill of riding =D

awww some of the tracks ive found and just carved out of the hills myself where i live are amazing! trees, tree roots, ditches, jumps, rocks just everything nature could throw onto a track is there and having it on my doorstep is awesome! =D

lol its 1.30 am n i wanna go out on my bike now!!!

Trek and santa cruz are both expensive bikes, i prefer the cruz but the Trek bikes are very nice too.
as for rock shox.....there ok but not what id go for, i hav triple clamp forks for much more stability.
What were the panaracer tyres u bought Damnidge? knobblys?

Thx, i do get a lot of compliments on my bike and mostly the boys are really jealous  , it cost me a lot of money to gain this effect but well worth it.

GT Aggressor is a nice bike rocket :thumbright:

Standard is not so bad rocket especially if its a GT. i find GT bikes are good bikes in general, i used to hav GT interceptor and i loved it but it was stolen. :angryfire:
I would absolutely love to go riding where u live rocket, are there any MTB trails there? or do you go rough and ride purposely where there are no paths? :brave: - i prefer the latter.
Range rover does sound painful btw. :iroc:

Why is Skateboarding a crime? lol :[

As for my bike.. well, I don't own a BMX anymore but I've had a few.
I had a Mongoose Mischief (Obviously not the 2009 model)
I also had a Diamondback but can't remember what model it was..

Yeah for an all stock bike its pretty dam good =D n is still going strong, had to replace the pedals with new ones 3x and fixed the gears quite a few times and a couple of new chains and a new saddle coz the stock one was ugly n really uncomfy lol =D and quite a few sets of tyres lol, after being thrown down god knows how many hills n slammed into the ground who knows how many times and of course the delightful Range Rover i dunno how its still in one piece lol.

nah there is no custom built tracks around here i just make em myself and theres a few little tracks for walkers and stuff. lol i prefer just finding a hill n throwing myself down it =D There is a really long track called "the backroad" which is alot of fun to go down, torture to go up it tho lol, its just a long, windy, steep track that lorries n crap use for cuttin all the trees down =( but this time of year they aint there so its awesome =D Theres part of the "West Highland Way" walkers path right next to my house to which some bits of are good fun. Its just generally a cool place to mountain bikin lots of little tracks and plenty of hills to make your own =D you would love it up here hehe.

and i agree skateboarding is a crime coz thats what absolutley wrecked my knee =(
