stupid question about setting up voice.

i finally got the audio working on my computer and not just need to figure out how to set up and use the voice speak in game. Any input on getting this up and running so i can talk would be great!

Regardless of OS, it's easy. Just plug in your microphone, go into your volume control settings, and enable it from there. Set the gain to whatever you need (test it using any sound recording program first). From there, just play. :)

In audio of the game setting check the box labled voice chat. underneath that it says voice option go in there and check the box that says auto join public channel and auto join team channel. you can also auto join local channel if you wish.

then go into the input tab where you can customize your keyboard controls. i chooose to use F as push to talke (holding down F and talking) however others will not here you unless you see the word team, public, or local under the icon on the left side of the screen when your talking. if you instead only see a vertical voice bar moving up and down while your holding F down WITHOUT a word in there at least you know your mic is working.

then its just a matter of toggling which channel you want to talk in because if it doesnt say the word of the channel ( team, local, or public) then your not talking in one. to talk in one i have bound [speak in public channel] to J on the keyboard. so....to speak in public i would hold down F then tap J (while still holding F) and that toggles me into public channel.

Ok.. So if I just see a vertical bar that goes up and down, then something is not right, correct? I have set mine up to automatically join the team and local channel. However, I have no way of knowing if anyone can here me. I do not get a picture of avatar when I chat. However, that may not be turned on on this server.
