EDIT:
DW Drama- Episode 1
Nelson: I want my maps on the server now, or I will stop uploading maps here
Ant: Do whatever you like, you are trying to pursuade us to hurry your maps through
Nelson: I don't care, just add my map on the server
Ant: it's not that easy as 1-2-3
Nelson: Ok, I'm just inpatiente
Renegade: Here's some drama, my map isn't good enough for you...?!
Join us next time on DW Drama, to find out what happens.
That's the last map for this server...

Wow, the drama. In a way, I'm not impressed.
I wouldn't get hyped up about this. As I mentioned earlier, uploading maps and testing them could be difficult at times.
Uploading maps isn't as easy as one-two-three. I never witnessed this first hand experience, but I believe the process is similar to this:
First download the map to your local computer
Extract the map then re-compress it to UT cache format
Upload the map through the FTP (sending it to the server)
Upload the map through web admin (make it votable)
Upload the map through redirect (make it downloadable)
I think the actual map copy goes to FTP and web admin, and the UT cache format goes to the redirect.
The Redirect is the picky one about case sensitivity and other obsolete copies of the map. It's case sensitive and it builds fail errors when there's a match of an older file to an existing one. This is why we add beta-X at the end of our map titles to make this easier. We still have mappers sending newer versions of the same map name, and that really eats up the time since we got to find the latest map through the endless list in the redirect (trust me, that list is VERY lengthy).
Rinse and repeat for other maps.
That's just getting it to the servers. Now to test it, we need to gather a group.
A clan mate is moving while another one just finished moving.
Another is experiencing severe connection problems which is why we rarely see him on MM lately.
Several of us, myself included, are back in school, and we got busy schedules this semester.
A large branch from the clan is in the competitive field for the CoD4 TWL. Plus practices every Tues.
Other clan mates have real life to witness: visits from family/friends, Chores, work, etc...
You ought to remember, "Real life comes first."
So, it's tough enough to find the common time where a handful of us can get together to check out some maps.
___________
If you believe your post is going to make us feel sorry, you're wrong. I just can't see how threatening of stop doing something is to persuade people to do something you want. Well it's your decision; I don't find it in my place to tell you what to do so I'll desist.
My apologies if this is an inconvenience for you. If you do decide to stick with mapping, then I would suggest you to develop fewer betas. Take your time between betas. Only upload the maps when you think they are ready to visit the servers rather than just send back feedback after these few tweaks.
By the way, it's only been four days since your oldest pending map. If I waited the entire summer to get Flight on the servers, I'm sure you can wait at least a week.

Didn't mean to make any drama.
I'm just simply a very inpatiente person, and I know sometimes can be a flaw as I end up saying too much.
Gotta laugh at it though...

Calm down. But a few points to make.
1st ... I've made one map for the server so far, it took three and a half months before it was uploaded onto the server. That was after it was fully made and tested by me and Aravona over LAN before it even heard of MonsterMash, it takes time.
2nd ... You have been making a lot, some more deserving of being put up than others. Out of all your maps (about 4 now?) I think two could be a lot of fun on MM. The difference is, unlike me, you put them to admins before you have truly finished making them and touching them up. While this is probably a better idea than what I do you have to understand that it will take even longer.
3rd ... These people have jobs and lives. It isn't their duty to put everyones maps first to get them on the server, this is just a game. I know you said you are unemployed and use this to fill your days, I can sympathise, I got made redundant too and use mapping to make my days a little more entertaining. As I said, just remember the admins are probably lucky enough to have jobs as well.

To bring about the end you have to start at the beginning.

Yes, true... I know.
I'm just a very inpatiente person... like I said before, and I also know sometimes it can be annoying, as I apply a lot of pressure on people.
So I guess I'm just going to have to be patiente... and like you stated Dynadin, take this time to improve the maps.

NOTE: This applies for ALL mappers…Invasion, Onslaught, DM, UT2k4, UT3…take your pick….it’s relevant for everyone…and no, I’m not pointing fingers or contemplating giving anyone in particular an e-swirly…it’s just something that’s been on my mind of late.
Why we do the things we do….
We game…we love to game! We love to game with our clan mates and community regulars! That’s one of the most important reasons for our group’s existence. From that love also comes the drive to provide the best possible gaming experience for everyone who sets foot in our servers.
To that end, we have standards. Yes…you can say it…we’re picky! There are tons and tons of crappy maps out there and there are always low class servers willing to put them up for play. Because we care about the image we represent to the gaming world…because we really want everyone to have the most fun possible, we screen our server content to ensure maps are playable, don’t contain obvious errors, and are optimized appropriately for their venue. I know there are a few stinker maps on our servers, but by and large I believe we’ve weeded out the most heinous offenders. For those that remain, they are either on borrowed time or they get rotated out of play periodically in an effort to provide some variety.
Over time, we’ve attracted a whole host of very talented people into the community and into the clan. These dedicated people are of a like mind…they care about the quality of their efforts…mapping, coding or simply playing the game. We encourage people like this in every way that we possibly can.
I am grateful to anyone who takes the time to open Unreal Editor. If we offer commentary on maps that are in beta, it’s to help mappers achieve quality. Through our guidance and comments we hope mappers will make better maps which in turn will benefit everyone! Nearly anybody can open the editor, make a box and texture it with concrete and call it a map. This it not the kind of map we want to put on our servers. I encourage every single mapper to look…I mean really look at examples from other mappers. Open maps from Simeon ‘Lord Simeon’ Spargo, Rachel ‘Angel Mapper’ Cordone, Chris ‘Oxygene’ Urban, David ‘DGUnreal’ Green and a whole host of others and you’ll begin to see why we ask for more quality and less quantity. Look at the geometry…look at the scope…look at textures & meshes….look at lighting. These are just a few of the starting points to building a great map. We play in an Unreal world…maps should take you there, to that other world and they should make you want to stay and play.
If, during the course of our comments, we ask that you change something, delete an item or suggest additions, it’s not because we hate your map and have a vendetta against you, it’s because we –know- our servers…what works and what doesn’t on them and what will improve or degrade gameplay. If your map is riddled with HoM errors, has BSP holes that eat players for snacks, is missing resources or just looks like @$$, we want to find that out -before- it goes live on the servers. So, as real life and time allows, we test and test some more. It’s an involved process, but one that I know improves the quality of gaming on our servers. It will also improve your map making abilities not to mention your inter-personal skills for those times when you actually have a life! ;)
As for the real world….
Please realize that everything we do here, we do from our love of gaming. We don’t get paid real money to “work” the sometimes crazy amount of hours required to make our gaming worlds and website a fun place for you guys. We don’t expect to get paid…because we’re doing these things to give back to our loyal gaming community, our clan mates and because it’s fun! And yes, other worldly concerns like work, school, family or friends, somehow manage to intrude (however rudely ;) ) on our fun at times, but it’s only a delay…not a disappearance of our presence or care.

Why the hell is DM-TrainStation still on the server then? that map is absolutely TERRIBLE, only the noobs who want to camp play it, its not balanced gameplay since noobs just camp up the top with the mine layer doing practically nothing.DW_KarmaKat wrote:To that end, we have standards. I must say I agree with Renegade entirely.
Sure the server does need maps for both noobs and pros, but there are numerous maps that can be used for both Noobs and Pros, and are much better than DM-Train station.
I do agree that map is terrible.
On the other Hand DM-Akbal should also be considered taken out, as it's way to hard, and only 1/10 times that map is won... or even barely people survive wave 12 for that matter.
I was judged by various people here, stating my DM-Underworld was way to difficult, so howcome they don't complain about DM-Akbal?

Ah these kinds of statements reminds me of an older topic related to Spam Vikings.Renegade_masta wrote:Why the hell is DM-TrainStation still on the server then? that map is absolutely TERRIBLE, only the noobs who want to camp play it, its not balanced gameplay since noobs just camp up the top with the mine layer doing practically nothing.

To save the trouble from reenacting all the arguments, I'll just post the link. You can read it, then comprehend why maps like TrainStation are still on.
Challenge for Map Deletion
By the way, reread this please.

You must be playing with the wrong shift. I witness Akbal being beaten 75% of the time.
