OK folks, there's several Gorz maps running on the server. Lets start a discussion about what you think works, what doesn't, and what we might be able to do to make it better.
Let's try to be constructive. No flaming.
I'll kick things off:
Adara - This map doesn't work for me at all. In its current state, it is just pure chaos and the vehicles are overwhelming and overpowered. I'm not sure what to do with this one yet.
Minus Tankmeup - I think this map is brilliant, well balanced, and can carry the large number of custom vehicles well. My only issue is with the minotour. I think this vehicle is way too powerfu even for a map like this. I think it should be removed, or replaced with another less powerful vehicle.

Gorz Maps
I much prefer the airmars-gorz to the original. Part of that is the node layout (you can't just capture the center ship), part of that is the variety of vehicles. Yeah, some are better than others, but I usually just grab the closest thing to me and jump in.
I really don't like Tank-me-up anyways, so... The flying thing is a pain in the butt, but I think that it is designed that way because its one shot is so powerful.

The minotaur is a pure case study on exactly why we need online play testing. On paper its finely tuned. There are 2 Ion tanks able to deal 1000 damage every 2 seconds, each respawning after 15 seconds. Pitted against a minotaur which does 800 damage every 3 seconds, has an appauling turret turning speed and awful handling and spawns after 2 minutes. But armour. The Minotaur has 2000, more than the Ion so is far more durable.
On paper.... it looks reasonable?
Fact is once a team gets both Ion Nodes then can spawn rape the core area without any possibility of a comeback. The near nodes are impossible to retake using just whats in the core and I dont think a levi would work. A super is required at the cores to offset this. I am open to any suggestions.
EDIT: Thinking about this just now.... what is needed really is some kind of shock weapon that has a high attack and defence ability but only at close range. Its basically to "push" the oppositions tanks off the first nodes. What if the range of the minotaur cannon was severely reduced to say... the distance between the core and the first trench node. Then it could not be used to snipe with and would be an easy target on the open roads without cover.
Adara - well that was actually developed on another server and got well recieved there. I could make a special SVA version for you but I like that as it was.
Dria - JESUS CHRIST what did you upload that for? :laughing2: That was more an offline demonstration of everything, so contains... everything. But I do think a Dria with just the faster scorps/benders would be better than standard. The map is waaay to big to do regular scorps justice. Dria - SVA? Standard dria with just fast scorps, benders, and the link setup the one people have been asking for in the other thread?

Gorz adara. Ive seen a wyvren take off from the core me being a rider. Ran right into the enemy core and there was still people running around in there. Also i noticed the hornet wasnt very effective. It was kind of a slow raptor, the gun on it isnt effective, although it took alot of damage. A few times i jumped into to it, not remebering what it was and said ah fudgeknuckles this stupid thing.
Minus i have no problem with the minotaur on that map. My only problem is before no one used to camp for a vehicle, now they do. Ive seen a few regular vehicle campers pretty much refuse to use anything else till the minitour respawned. Also, i still think the hammerhead should become the new cicada and allow for a second driver to fire the mini guns. Which may need to be beefed up.
Maelseverance is a very good map. It could be great if a few nodes were removed, and the fast building nodes were gone. Same problem from gorz adara, the wyvrens get way to much altitude and are way too fast. One of the nodes on the mountain seperating the enemy core from the primary node is a freaking speed bump for the wyvrens. This by the way was the easiest way to win. Since the other primary node was so close to the core and you had a minotaur lingering around.
Dria is the best map of the new gorz series. Even with out the new vehicles it would still kick a$$. Just fix the vehicle and weapons layout and we got a true winner.
EDIT: Actaully the paladins in minus need to have their protien. Im still shooting vollyballs and it could be a hair faster.

MinusTankmeup : I really love this map the way it is, I dont know if I would like at half as much without the minotaur. The balance between the minotaur and the Ion tanks I think is perfect but obviously not everyone does lol. The Hammerhead really needs some work I hate the way that vehicle feels and you cant shoot in front of you becuase you cant see what your aiming at or you over shoot it because of your angle. Can you do some thing about this gorz ?

Personally I don't care for the new Adara at all. I don't even know why I don't like it -- There's nothing particularly wrong with it as is. In general though I feel like the level's kind of slow, not sure why.
Things I don't care for:
1. Music. Change to something good instead of the kiddie-circus music. My recommendation http://www.cineris.org/wailofsuicide/UT ... c/Lock.ogg
2. Wyverns - Dominant vehicle on the map. I don't find them enjoyable to play against, really. See the usual complaints about Mantas except get rid of the primary weapon and double the movement issues. I don't know that their super jump really adds to the map -- I would either reduce the height or increase the time it takes to charge. Setting their HoverCheckDist to something like 175 is also appropriate, I think.
3. Tree nodes are too exposed. Put a ring or other obstacle around the flying node symbol to make it so enemies can't shoot it from the middle nodes. Maybe put a jumppad near the cave beneath to add another route to get up onto that ledge.
4. Removal of the speed boost ramps. I'd like to see them back.
5. Lack of a Scorp Diablo in the bases. Replace one of the regular Scorps with a Diablo.
6. UTClassic Sniper. I'd much rather have the Lightning Gun, particularly because when you hit the Wyverns/Mantas you can tell.
7. Hornets - They don't seem to do anything productive on this map from what I can tell. Regular Raptors would be better (although that might be too much air power... not sure).

I've played em all, just don't remember :drunken: HOWEVER, I remember Minustankmeup. I think the Uber-super tank (you people call it the minotaur) is awesome. I love it. Keep it as it is. And the paint job is cool too.
Well lets leave minus alone, its a well liked map a few quirks but nothing major. Kinda like dreamus. Although id like to see the hammer head become the new cicada with a gunner inside i dont think its going to happen.
