SVA Practices & DW vs SVA Scrims - Days and Times
Posted: Fri Aug 18, 2006 11:23 pm
Hi guys! :bom:
For those of you who weren't at the last official DW vs SVA scrim, we are now going to a once-a-month schedule. Games to be played on the first Saturday of every month. The next one will be on September 2nd at 8:00pm Central time. This is a Labor Day weekend date. I don't know how many of either side will be around but, hey, if we don't have a lot, we can always TAM or practice being stunt drivers on Tricky! ;)
Some ideas that have been rolling around in my head:
Wednesday Night Formal Practices
We have previously been showing up at 9:00pm Central. What do you all think about making that a little bit earlier? 8:00pm?
Saturdays (non-scrim days)
This new schedule will leave us 3 open Saturdays for extra practice time. I was thinking that perhaps we could have at least one of those "off" Saturdays be an earlier formal practice day to give the various ages, work schedules and time zones of some of the players who can't make it on Saturday nights a chance at the fun we've all been enjoying. I would suggest the 3rd Saturday of every month, say at 3:00pm Central time?
That would make the next one on September 16th.
As for the other two Saturdays a month...totally informal practice at 8:00pm Central?
I figure with school starting and other demands on our time, we may not have a lot of peeps turn out for these. So just show up if you have the time and see what happens!
DWs...always welcome! If there's enough of both sides, we can have a mini-scrim or mix 'em up and just play like the maniacs we all are!
Reminders
I know some of you don't check in on the Forums regularly. So I was thinking that if you wanted me to, I would setup an email account for sending out reminders, say a couple of days ahead of any practice or scrim. I know this involves a level of trust on your part, but you can always make up an email account just for these reminders on the freebie sites like Yahoo or Hotmail. What is important, is that it will be an email account that you actually take the time to check regularly!! :drunken: I promise you I won't give out addresses to anyone! I like spam (game)...spam (heated in a pan)...spam (lovely spam...wonderful spam! Shut UP!! Bloody Vikings!!!)...but I detest spam served up in my "IN" box!
So...please reply here with feedback, questions, comments or any other general insanity...why should this thread be any different than the others and stay on topic!
LOL!!!
Thanks everybody!!
