what should i do next? is there a decent map that could be better for invasion with some tweakage? DO NOT suggest a box or pos map that could be built better from scratch. like The Nest or Chakas or something.
i was considering taking bits and pieces of retail maps and clunkin em down to usable for invasion. for example: the assault map glacier... the intro area to that map would be awesome... the bridge with the complex on one side and the hangar on the other. a couple of the other complexes later in the map would be good as well . . . it's open with overlooks and other shit.

TBH, I don't know if this would be a good INV map, but it's on our IG server, and it's such a sweet map.
It's got two hiding places that I know of. The church under the tree, and the UFO.
The map gets god awful frames, and would need work to optimize.
We also have a lot of mini me maps on the IG server that might make good INV maps, almost out of the box.

Death Dome , make the center platform somehting you can get into . Door at the bottom , ladder going up with platforms and portals . There is another map with a similar tower , doesn't come to mind right off hand.
What about Goose2K4 , probably playable like it is .

Primeval is an Onslaught map, and yeah, a version with treehouses and catwalks would be cool -- Though I'm not so sure how that'd work as Invasion. Frostbite could also make a decent invasion map if the castles were built up a little bit more. Most other ONS maps are too big, though (IMO).
I'd really like to see DM-Liandri (UT99 map, but I know there are several versions for 2003/4) as I think that'd be a pretty good invasion map overall.
I'm also thinking of doing a version of DM-Healpod (A U1/UT99 map)...
Pretty much any classic layout from UT99 would be nice to see: DM-Tempest, CTF-Coret, DM-Shrapnel, DM-Pressure, etc. You'd need to scale any of these layouts up 20/25%, but then you also have plenty of room to add stuff in because they aren't cluttered with static mess. I can help you out here if you don't know how/don't have access to UT99 to get these.
Some other maps from UT2004 whose themes I really like are CTF-Citadel, CTF-FaceClassic, CTF-MoonDragon, CTF-GrassyKnoll, CTF-DoubleDammage... It'd be nice to see these turned into invasion maps. #1 change that any CTF map needs done to be Invasion-playable though is to move the playerstarts from the bases and put them out in the center.

Wraith, what about several of the karate maps we use on the 2k3 server? I bet some could easily be made into invasion maps...like dojo, and the one with the bleachers.
