I would like to see it on the SV ONS server as well. I am having to answer about people running wall hacks everyday since all those screen shots have come up. I hope it works out. :salute:

Hey Bomz,

Two things:
  1. You put antitcc on the votable area that is not supposed to have antitcc and left the current antitcc votable stuff at the old level.
  2. I'm not sure SV will handle antitcc. First we use non-standard packages; second it already lags like an SOB. Let's try it but be ready to back it out quickly.

Hmm.. Ok so remove the old Anti TCC . It must have become votable by default somehow because it's loaded in through the .ini .

I'll see if I can fix it in the morning.

As far as SV it has to pass a trial run at Infamous then maybe we'll give it a go one early morning and see how it reacts as it fills up .Also need to run it by the Chief.

Oh please, please, please don't put AntiTCC on Span Vikings. I'm begging you. Down-on-my-knees-begging. I can't find a down-on-my-knees-begging emoticon, so this'll have to do: :love9: :protest: :3some:

AntiTCC already does terrible things to Infamous, which is why you only see it voted into maybe half the games on the server. I ain't the only one that doesn't like it because of the terrible things it does to the server and one's box . . . I'm just one of the more vocal folks.

Besides, given the ONS gametype, it's much easier to spot the incredibly rare cheater than it is in TAM/Freon, where the players are already l33t enough you can't distinguish 'em from a botter who sets his hit percentage at less than 100%. The single botter I remember seeing on SV in the last few years was really stupid about it; he turned his hitscan to max on CaptainGordon.

ONS makes it pretty easy to tell who's tryin' to hack, given the interesting weapons, map, and vehicle mixes. So I'd say that policing SV isn't really all that tricky. Botters make their presence known real quick; you just can't hide it and pass it off as "being good" the way one theoretically can in TDM/TAM/Freon-type matches. I don't think it's necessary nor desirable to add AntiTCC to an already occasionally laggy server. Otherwise you'll risk turning it into the Omni server, which is extremely lagtastic due to their usage of AntiTCC. ;)

No worries about SV .

Back to Infamous. I thought when I set it up I turned it on all the time . Should we put it on the vote menu so it's up to the people in the game ? Not sure what I've done now but getting ready to look at it.

Yeah, it's on Infamous. You choose your gametype from the drop down, i.e. "TAM/Freon without AntiTCC" or "TAM/Freon with AntiTCC" . . . and then you choose the map you want to play. The map voting screen tells all players which gametype and which maps are being voted for. So even if two players vote for the same map, but with different gametypes, the vote menu keeps track of this and displays the gametype, too.

ATCC doesn't do terrible things to your computer, you choose to play on linux with a file system / hard drive combo that must have terrible performance. Install the Win7 RC and enjoy buttery smooth play for free until March 2010.

As for cheaters being obvious in ONS, you are kidding yourself. The only real consolation is it is slightly more difficult for one cheater to change the outcome of a 32-player ONS match.
