ATCC doesn't do terrible things to your computer, you choose to play on linux with a file system / hard drive combo that must have terrible performance. Install the Win7 RC and enjoy buttery smooth play for free until March 2010.

"Must?" Because you suddenly know all causes and effects without ever personally taking a look at them? Sorry, goosey, but just because you don't like that someone reports TCC issues doesn't mean they don't exist independent of OS, hardware, etc. These issues happen on the DW servers and on the HoC servers to Windows, Linux, and Mac users. I know you're on the forums here and at HoC, so take the time to search the threads for TCC trouble reports.

Oh, and while I won't rehash the whole everyone in the world should use Windows thing, I will say that my hardware and filesystem are not the issues. I'm on a RAID1 array . . . means I get better read performance than the typical single-drive system. Well, unless you're on a 15k RPM enterprise drive or SSD. Actually, I'll be moving to an SSD soon, so I expect to get even better throughput than my already good performance. UT2k4 mostly does reads as it loads stuff into memory.

You can keep deluding yourself if you want about the superiority of Windows and how I should run it, and that my hardware must be at fault. But I sure don't see Windows as the magic bullet. Not when the Windows gamers also report their TCC issues on the in-game chat. More than half the Infamous matches are still without AntiTCC because folks don't want to deal with its bullcrap. :)

All that being said, I still like the DW servers a ton. They were the first I joined when I started playing in 2006. They're still good 3 years later. Sure, AntiTCC may put a bit of a damper on it, but it doesn't change its essential fun-ness. Now get out there and play. :D

I never said Windows was a superior operating system. I never said you should use it as an OS. I simply said load up the FREE until March Release Candidate (separate partition, hdd, whatever) to play UT2K4 on for FREE. And if you don't think it will run better in windows, then you are the delusional one.

Now get out there and play. :D
